RECIPROCATING PEDALS WITH DUAL-LEVERED CAM FOR ASYMMETRIC RECIPROCATION

A lift truck employs forward and reverse pedals connected through respective cams having different upper and lower cam profiles that engage to provide asymmetric reciprocal pedal motion. For example, first pedal depression causes a first cam upper profile to engage with a second cam upper profile and cause increased elevation of a second pedal, and first pedal depression causes a first cam lower profile to disengage with a second cam lower profile associated with the second pedal, such that first pedal depression is greater than the increased elevation of the second pedal.

Vehicles, steering systems, and steering assemblies of a vehicle are provided in the present disclosure. According to one embodiment, a steering system includes a track oriented substantially in a side-to-side direction with respect to the vehicle. The side-to-side direction may be substantially horizontal with a ground surface and substantially perpendicular with a forward-facing direction of the vehicle. The steering system also includes a steering wheel adapted to slide laterally along the track. In another embodiments, the present disclosure provides a vehicle comprising a steering wheel assembly adapted to be positioned in laterally variable locations with respect to the vehicle, whereby the steering wheel assembly is further adapted to enable a driver to manually operate the vehicle from a left-hand side of the vehicle and from a right-hand side of the vehicle.

Pedal value generator for a motor vehicle, pedal value generator arrangement and method for controlling a motor vehicle
11307605 · 2022-04-19 · ·

A pedal value generator 14 for a motor vehicle 30, a pedal value generator arrangement 10 and a method for controlling a motor vehicle 30 are described. A first pedal actuating surface 16 and, at a distance thereto, a second pedal actuating surface 18 are arranged on a cross member 20. A sensor arrangement 24 detects a torque M of the cross member 20 with respect to a torque axis X arranged between the first and second pedal actuating surfaces 16, 18 and for supplying an electrical actuation signal B1, B2 as a function of torque M. When an actuating force acts upon first pedal actuating surface 16 motor vehicle 30 can be accelerated and when an actuating force acts upon second pedal actuating surface 18 it can be decelerated.

ONE-PEDAL DRIVE FILTERS AND RATE LIMITS OF POWERTRAIN TORQUE
20220097700 · 2022-03-31 ·

A vehicle includes a powertrain having an electric machine configured to power driven wheels, an accelerator pedal, and a brake pedal. A controller is programmed to, in response to driver-demanded torque corresponding to a position of the accelerator pedal, selectively brake the vehicle via operation of the electric machine, in further response to a speed of the vehicle being greater than a threshold, limit a rate of change of the driver-demanded torque commanded to the powertrain based on a first rate limit, and, in further response to the speed being less than another threshold, limit a rate of change of the driver-demanded torque commanded to the powertrain based on a second rate limit that is higher than the first rate limit such that, for a given driver-demanded torque, acceleration and deceleration of the vehicle is more responsive than when the first rate limit is applied.

ONE-PEDAL DRIVE SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE

A vehicle includes an accelerator pedal, an electric machine, and a controller. The electric machine is configured to propel and brake the vehicle according to a one-pedal driving operation. The controller is programmed to, in response to depressing the accelerator pedal, command a desired torque to the electric machine. The controller is further programmed to, adjust the desired torque based on a gradient of a road surface that the vehicle is positioned on. The controller is further programmed to, in response to movement of the electric machine in a direction that is opposite to a desired direction while the adjusted desired torque is being applied, increase the adjusted desired torque by a compensation torque such that movement of the electric machine transitions to the desired direction.

Foldable brake pedal apparatus for autonomous vehicles

A foldable brake pedal apparatus for autonomous vehicles provides a manual driving mode and an autonomous driving mode. In the manual driving mode, a driver directly drives a vehicle, a pedal pad protrudes from a pedal housing and pops up to be exposed to the driver side such that the driver can manipulate the pedal pad. And in the autonomous driving mode, the driver does not directly drive the vehicle, the pedal pad is inserted into the pedal housing and is in a hidden state in which exposure of the pedal pad toward the drive side is inhibited such that the driver cannot manipulate the pedal pad.
