METHOD FOR OPERATING A DRIVER ASSISTANCE DEVICE FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE AND CORRESPONDING DRIVER ASSISTANCE DEVICE
A method for operating a driver assistance device for a motor vehicle. A drive potential is respectively determined from all driven wheels of at least one axis of the motor vehicle. The drive potentials are compared and a braking device with a specific wheel braking force is controlled for braking the wheel having a lower drive potential.

There is provided a configuration, including a storage unit that stores a theoretical driving wheel rotating speed based on a correspondence relationship with a predetermined engine speed in each gear stage of a transmission of a vehicle; gear stage detection means for detecting the gear stage when currently travelling; engine speed detection means for detecting an engine speed; driving wheel rotating speed detection means for detecting a driving wheel rotating speed; and torque control means for controlling output torque, in which the output torque is increased so that a current driving wheel rotating speed becomes close to the theoretical driving wheel rotating speed when a relative value of a calculated value which is calculated by using the detected driving wheel rotating speed with respect to a calculated value which is calculated by using the theoretical driving wheel rotating speed is equal to or greater than a first threshold value.
VEHICLE DRIVE SYSTEM
A vehicle drive system includes a slip acquisition unit that acquires occurrence of excessive slip, an addition slip point calculating unit that calculates addition slip points in a time-discrete manner, based on having acquired that the excessive slip has occurred, a cumulative slip point calculating unit that accumulates the addition slip points and calculates a cumulative slip point over time, a drive state switching unit that switches between 2WD and AWD based on cumulative slip points and a drive state switching threshold value, and a cumulative slip point resetting unit triggered by a lateral acceleration correlation value of the vehicle reaching a lateral acceleration threshold value or higher, or a drive force correlation value of the drive wheels reaching a drive force correlation threshold value or higher, to reset the cumulative slip point to a value smaller than the drive state switching threshold value.

Vehicle speed control system and method employing torque balancing
A method for operating a speed control system of a vehicle having a plurality of wheels is provided. The method comprises receiving one or more electrical signals representative of vehicle-related information. The method further comprises determining, based on the one or more electrical signals representative of vehicle-related information, that one or more of the wheels of the vehicle have overcome an obstacle or are about to overcome an obstacle and that therefore a reduction in an applied drive torque to one or more of the wheels of the vehicle by a powertrain subsystem (applied drive torque) will be required to maintain the speed of the vehicle at a target set-speed of the speed control system. The method still further comprises automatically commanding the application of a retarding torque to one or more of the wheels of the vehicle to counteract the effect of an overrun condition in the powertrain subsystem from increasing the speed of the vehicle. A system for controlling the speed of a vehicle comprising an electronic control unit configured to perform the above-described methodology is also provided.
