Systems, apparatus, and methods for detecting and verifying an environmental anomaly using multiple command nodes
A system for detecting and verifying an environmental anomaly within a shipping container (transported on a transit vehicle having an external transceiver) has wireless sensor-based ID nodes at different locations within the container and multiple command nodes mounted to the container. A first command node is programmatically configured to be operative to detect the sensor data broadcasted from the ID nodes; responsively identify the anomaly based upon the sensor data detected by that command node; and transmit a validation request to another command node. The other command node is configured to be operative to also detect the sensor data broadcasted from the ID nodes; receive the validation request from the first command node; verify the anomaly in response to the validation request and based upon the sensor data detected by the second command node; and broadcast a verification message based upon whether the anomaly for the shipping container is verified.

Fire extinguishing system
Techniques and safety devices are described for extinguishing fires within an inventory management system. A plurality of fire extinguishing devices for a plurality of containers in an inventory management system is monitored. Upon determining that a fire condition is occurring within the inventory management system, a positional information data store is queried to determine a current position of a first container within the inventory management system. Two or more containers within the inventory management system that are in close proximity to the first container are identified and one or more wireless signals are transmitted to two or more fire extinguishing devices of the plurality of fire extinguishing devices that are contained within the two or more containers, to activate the two or more first extinguishing devices. The plurality of containers is scanned using an infrared scanning device to determine whether all fire conditions within the inventory management system are extinguished.
INTERNALLY MOUNTED DEVICE FOR THE SUPERVISION OF A FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM
A supervised fire suppression system (10, 100) is disclosed that includes a discharge valve (14, 114) for controlling release of a fire extinguishing agent from a container (12), a control head (16, 116) operatively associated with the discharge valve for actuating the discharge valve in the event of a fire, wherein the control head may be removed from the discharge valve to facilitate inspection of the control head, and an internal supervisory switching device (130) mounted within the control head and configured to interact with the discharge valve to provide an indication that the control head has been removed from the discharge valve.

Systems and Methods for Suppressing a Fire Condition in an Aircraft
An example system for suppressing a fire condition in an aircraft includes a supply of fire suppressant agent on-board the aircraft, a conduit coupled to the supply of fire suppressant agent and configured to carry fire suppression agent, an inlet located downstream of the conduit that is coupled to the conduit and is configured to be attached to a cargo container in the aircraft to deliver the fire suppression agent directly into the cargo container, a valve connected to the conduit between the supply of fire suppressant agent and the inlet, a detector located inside the cargo container, and a computer controller in communication with the valve and in communication with the detector, and controlling operation of the valve for delivery of the fire suppression agent into the cargo container based on an output received from the detector.
Systems and methods for securely monitoring a shipping container for an environmental anomaly
Systems and methods are described for securely monitoring a shipping container for an environmental anomaly using elements of a wireless node network of sensor-based ID nodes disposed within the container and a command node associated with the container. The method has the command node identifying which of the ID nodes are confirmed as trusted sensors based upon a security credential specific to each of the ID nodes; monitoring only the confirmed ID nodes for sensor data broadcast those ID nodes; detecting the anomaly based upon the sensor data from at least one of the confirmed ID nodes; automatically generating an alert notification related to the detected environmental anomaly for the shipping container; and transmitting the alert notification to the external transceiver to initiate a mediation response related to the detected environmental anomaly.
Systems, apparatus, and methods for detecting an environmental anomaly and initiating an enhanced automatic response using elements of a wireless node network and using sensor data from ID nodes associated with packages and environmental threshold conditions per package
An improved system detects an environmental anomaly in a shipping container and initiates a mediation response through a generated layered alert notification. The system includes sensor-based ID nodes associated with packages within the container, and a command node mounted to the container communicating with the ID nodes and an external transceiver on a vehicle transporting the container. The command node is programmed to detect sensor data from the ID nodes; compare the sensor data to package environmental thresholds in context data related to each ID node; detect the environmental anomaly when the comparison indicates an environmental condition for at least one package exceeds its environmental threshold; responsively generate a layered alert notification identifying a mediation recipient and mediation action, and establishing a mediation response priority based upon the comparison; and transmit the layered alert notification to the transceiver unit to initiate a mediation response related to the mediation action.
