Privacy management

One or more embodiments of techniques or systems for privacy management are provided herein. In one or more embodiments, privacy management may be provided by adjusting the way a system provides notifications, handles communications, or executes applications based on the presence or positioning of one or more occupants within a vehicle. In other words, a vehicle may provide notifications in a first manner when merely a driver is present but provide notifications in a second manner (e.g., different than the first manner) when an additional occupant is detected. Sensors may be utilized to detect the presence or positioning of occupants and communications or applications may be managed accordingly. In this manner, privacy management is provided, thus enhancing security of applications or communications utilized by occupants of a vehicle, such as a driver, for example.

Start and stop methods for a vehicle smart mirror

In one embodiment, a vehicle mirror includes an on-board diagnostics (OBD) transceiver and one or more processors. The processors access OBD data received by the OBD transceiver from an OBD port of a vehicle. The processors further monitor the OBD data to determine whether communications with the OBD port have been lost, determine an OBD speed of the vehicle, and determine an RPM of an engine of the vehicle. The processors further determine a GPS speed of the vehicle from a GPS transceiver. When communications with the OBD port are lost, the processors transition the vehicle mirror to a sleep power state. When communications with the OBD port have not been lost, the processors transition the vehicle mirror to the sleep power state when the OBD speed is determined to be zero for at least a first predetermined amount of time and the RPM of the engine is determined to be less than a threshold RPM amount.

An in-vehicle display system is provided with first display unit, second display unit, vehicle information acquisition unit, and CPU. When a display operation for outputting at least a portion of first content to second display unit with the first content being output to first display unit is performed, CPU selects either of first display unit and second display unit with which to associate an authority to operate the output of at least one of first display unit and second display unit according to at least one signal from among a plurality of signals indicating a type of the first content, an attribute of first display unit, an attribute of second display unit, vehicle information, and a detail of the display operation.

Provided are systems and methods for facilitating a user to configure and retrieve personalized settings for a fully designable information panel in a driving apparatus. The information panel system may be configured to store a plurality information panel configurations. Different information panel configurations may correspond to different users of the driving apparatus. Users may be identified when inside the driving apparatus by capturing their biometric information. Following identification, an information panel configuration corresponding to the identified user may be retrieved and configured on a display device. The displayed information panel configuration may include a user customized graphic. The user customized graphic may be modified by the identified user with a color, shape, or text modification. The modification may be dependent on different metrics regarding vehicle operation or performance.

Power Management for a Vehicle Smart Mirror System

In one embodiment, a vehicle mirror includes an on-board diagnostics (OBD) transceiver and one or more processors. The processors access OBD data received by the OBD transceiver from an OBD port of a vehicle. The processors further determine, from the OBD data, a vehicle type, a change in voltage of the vehicle's battery, and a secondary vehicle factor. When the vehicle is determined to be a combustion engine vehicle, the processors transition the vehicle mirror from a sleep power state to an awake power state when the change in voltage is greater than a predetermined amount and the secondary factor of the vehicle is greater than a predetermined threshold. When the vehicle is determined to be an electric vehicle, the processors transition the vehicle mirror from the sleep power state to the awake power state when any activity is detected in the OBD data and the secondary factor of the vehicle is greater than the predetermined threshold.

Methods, systems, apparatuses, and computer program products are provided for altering the behavior of an electronic personal assistant based on a situation associated with a mobile device. A situation is sensed with a plurality of sensors to generate sensor data. A situation score is calculated based on the sensor data. Behavior of an electronic personal assistant is altered based on the calculated situation score. In one aspect, the situation is a driving situation in which a driver drives a vehicle on a roadway. In such case, a driving situation score is calculated based on the sensor data, and behavior of the electronic personal assistant is altered based on the calculated driving situation score, such as suspending interactions by the electronic personal assistant with the driver to avoid the driver being distracted.
