DISPLAY APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME
A display apparatus and a method for controlling the same are disclosed. The display apparatus provided in a vehicle according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises a memory; a display unit displaying one or more data areas on a screen; and a controller controlling the display unit to further display additional data area on the basis of at least one of recognition and identification of a passenger who boards on the vehicle.
Dynamic image adjustment to enhance off- axis viewing in a display assembly
A display assembly includes a display console displaying at least one image on an image plane. The image is divided into a plurality of pixels. A controller is operatively connected to the display console and includes a processor and tangible, non-transitory memory on which is recorded instructions for executing a method for dynamically adjusting the image in real-time for off-axis viewing. The controller is programmed to generate a compensation-over-viewing-angle map which includes respective compensation factors for each of the plurality of pixels for multiple viewing positions. In one embodiment, the controller is programmed to apply separate respective compensation factors for the instantaneous viewing positions of a first user at a time j and a second user at a time k. In another embodiment, the controller is programmed to apply first and second compensation factors simultaneously at a time m, for a first image and a second image, respectively.
MOTOR VEHICLE COMPRISING A DISPLAY DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR ADJUSTING A DISPLAY DEVICE
In a method for adjusting a display device and a motor vehicle having such a display device, the display device is arranged on a dashboard of the motor vehicle. The display device has at least two rimless screens. Each of the screens is connected to the dashboard by an adjustment element. The respective adjustment element can move the respective screens into a plurality of adjustment positions in all spatial directions. In a combined adjustment position, the screens are arranged as a combined display surface, and the screens are designed to display a uniform display image on the combined display surface. In at least one separated adjustment position, a first screen is assigned to a driver's position and a second screen is assigned to a passenger's position.
INFORMATION PRESENTATION DEVICE AND INFORMATION PRESENTATION METHOD
An information presentation device, mounted on a vehicle for which automatic evacuation control functions when it is difficult for a driver to continue driving the vehicle, and presenting information to an occupant of the vehicle except the driver by a display in a display area that is visually recognizable by the occupant, includes: an operation information acquisition unit that acquires operation information of the automatic evacuation control; and a display generation unit that generates an occupant notification display that is displayed in the display area to notify information relating to the automatic evacuation control when the automatic evacuation control is in operation. The occupant notification display includes: an explanatory image that shows an explanation of a process executed currently; and a progress image that indicates a degree of progress in the automatic evacuation control.
FACILITATING COMMUNICATIONS BETWEEN A COMPUTING DEVICE AND AN ON-BOARD SYSTEM
In one aspect, embodiments can enable a passenger to connect his/her computing device wirelessly to a transportation apparatus to a display within the transportation apparatus. The portable device may be so connected outside the transportation apparatus, for example at the user's office or the user's home. After the passenger connects the computing device to the display in the transportation apparatus, the user may be enabled to control the computing device by providing inputs through the display. In some embodiments, the user may be enabled to control one or more in-vehicle devices through the computing device after it is connected to the passenger display.
VEHICLE WITH A DRIVER SEAT AND AT LEAST ONE PASSENGER SEAT AND A METHOD FOR PROVIDING A CO-DRIVER AND/OR AT LEAST ONE FELLOW PASSENGER WITH INFORMATION ON A CURRENTLY EXPERIENCED DRIVING SITUATION
The invention is related to a method and vehicle comprising a driver seat and at least one passenger seat for providing a co-driver and/or fellow passenger with information on a currently experienced driving situation. In an estimating unit at least one driver parameter is estimated. The driver parameter describes at least one aspect of current driving action performed by the driver of the vehicle. Furthermore, in the estimating unit at least one traffic situation parameter is estimated describing at least an aspect of the traffic situation encountered by the vehicle. From the at least one driver parameter and/or from the at least one traffic situation parameter then information that is related to the currently experienced driving situation is generated. This information is then output to a co-driver and/or fellow passenger via a dedicated interface unit.
System and method for recognizing a motion by analyzing a radio signal
A system for recognizing motion by analyzing a radio signal includes: a radio signal transmitter configured to transmit a radio signal; a radio signal receiver configured to receive the transmitted radio signal; and a motion recognition processing device configured to: i) analyze the received radio signal, ii) extract and classify a gesture from the analyzed radio signal, iii) recognize the extracted and classified gesture, and iv) perform vehicle device control based on the recognized gesture.
Redundant-controls system for an automated vehicle
A redundant-controls system suitable for use an automated vehicle includes a primary-control-device, a secondary-control-device, an occupant-detection-device, and a controller. The primary-control-device is installed in a vehicle. The primary-control-device is selectively enabled to allow operation from an operator-seat of the vehicle by an operator of the vehicle to control movement of the vehicle. The secondary-control-device is installed in the vehicle. The secondary-control-device is selectively enabled to allow operation from a passenger-seat of the vehicle by a passenger of the vehicle to control movement of the vehicle. The occupant-detection-device is used to determine an operator-state-of-awareness of the operator and a passenger-state-of-awareness of the passenger. The controller is in communication with the primary-control-device, the secondary-control-device, and the operator-detection-device. The controller is configured to selectively enable the secondary-control-device to override the primary-control-device when the passenger-state-of-awareness indicates greater awareness than the operator-state-of-awareness.
Multi-perspective three-dimensional floating image display
A system for generating a centrally located floating three-dimensional image display for a plurality of passengers positioned within a vehicle includes a display adapted to project a multiplexed hologram comprising a plurality of three-dimensional holographic images, and a plurality of beam splitters, one beam splitter individually associated with each one of the plurality of passengers, each beam splitter adapted to receive one of the plurality of holographic images from the display and to reflect the one of the plurality of holographic images to the associated one of the plurality of passengers, wherein, each of the plurality of passengers perceives one of the plurality of three-dimensional holographic images floating at a central location within the vehicle.
System and method for controlling output of content in vehicle
