Human machine interface apparatus for vehicle and methods of controlling the same
10180729 · 2019-01-15 · ·

A human machine interface (HMI) minimizing the number of gestures for operation control in which user-intended operation commands are accurately recognized by dividing a vehicle interior into a plurality of regions. The HMI receives an input of a gesture according to each region, and controls any one device according to the gesture. Convenience of a user is improved because the gesture may be performed in a state in which region restriction is minimized by identifying an operation state and an operation pattern of an electronic device designated according to each region to recognize the user's intention when the user performs the gesture in a boundary portion between two regions or even in multiple regions.

In accordance with one embodiment of the present disclosure, a recreational vehicle is provided comprising a vehicle body supported by at least one axle assembly, a plurality of operational components, at least one weight-sensing component, a body control module in communication with the operational components, a weight processing module in communication with the weight-sensing component, and a user interface. The user interface is in communication with the body control module and the weight processing module and comprises user prompts for (i) associating particular operational components with the recreational vehicle and (ii) associating a particular weight-related parameter with the recreational vehicle. The weight processing module, the weight-sensing component, and the user interface are structured to generate an indication of vehicle weight at the user interface. The indication of vehicle weight is at least partially dependent upon the particular weight-related parameter associated with the recreational vehicle at the user interface. Additional embodiments are disclosed and claimed.

Method and apparatus for automatically arranging seats of autonomous vehicle

A method and apparatus for automatically arranging seats of an autonomous vehicle enable seats to be remotely changed between a standard arrangement mode and a final target arrangement mode. The apparatus includes a manipulation device configured to generate a signal corresponding to a target arrangement mode of seats through manipulation by a passenger, seat motors respectively provided in the seats so as to control positions and postures of the seats, seat controllers for controlling operation of the seat motors, and a vehicle controller configured to transmit a signal from the manipulation device to the seat controllers, transmit an abnormal signal indicating jamming of the seats to the manipulation device or control the seat controllers provided in the vehicle. As a result, it is possible to easily change the seats to a desired arrangement mode in an autonomous vehicle without interference with peripheral components during movement of the seats.

Electronic apparatus and controlling method thereof

An electronic apparatus disposed in a vehicle is provided. The electronic apparatus includes an input device including a body configured to be rotatable and pushable and a display disposed on the body; and a processor configured to acquire profile data of a user including preset information for function of the vehicle, control the display to display basic user interface (UI) corresponding to the function of the vehicle based on the acquired profile data of the user, and control a function of the vehicle corresponding to the basic UI in response to receiving an input on the input device.

User interface apparatus for vehicle, and vehicle

A user interface apparatus for a vehicle including a touch screen; a gesture input unit configured to detect a gesture of a user; and a processor configured to in response to the gesture detected by the gesture input unit being applied from a driver seat of the vehicle, display a preset first screen on the touch screen corresponding to driver operations of the vehicle, and in response to the gesture detected by the gesture input unit being applied from a front passenger seat of the vehicle, display a preset third screen on the touch screen corresponding to passenger operations of the vehicle excluding vehicle driving operations.

Vehicle-based multi-modal interface

Various embodiments enable mobile devices, such as phones and the like, to integrate with an in-vehicle information/entertainment system to enable the user to control the in-vehicle information/entertainment system by way of their mobile phone. Users can leverage the functionality of their mobile phone to promote an in-vehicle experience which can be contextually tailored to the user's or the vehicle's context. Yet other embodiments can purvey an in-vehicle experience through a cloud based service.

Exchangeable batteries and stations for charging batteries for use by electric vehicles

An electric vehicle having an electric motor is provided. The electric vehicle having a receptacle slot integrated in the electric vehicle. The receptacle slot provides an electrical connection for providing power to the electric motor. A battery having an elongated form factor, where a first end of the elongated form factor includes a handle and a second end of the elongated form factor includes a connection for interfacing with the electrical connection of the receptacle slot of the vehicle, when the battery is slid into the receptacle slot for electrical engagement. The battery is configured to store and supply charge to power the electric motor of the electric vehicle and the battery is replaceable by sliding the battery out of the receptacle slot and sliding in another battery into the receptacle slot to further supply charge to power the electric motor of the electric vehicle with said another battery. The battery and said another battery each have a respective handle that is accessible for enabling hand-removal and hand-insertion of said battery and said another battery out of and into the receptacle slot. A computer on-board the electric vehicle is interfaced with the electrical connection of the receptacle slot to obtain a level of charge of the battery present in the receptacle slot. A battery level indicator of the electric vehicle provides information regarding the level of charge of the battery in the receptacle slot. A system for storing and charging batteries usable by the electric vehicle is further provided. In some examples, the batteries are additionally or alternatively recharged using green sources, such as wind or solar.

MANAGING RECREATIONAL VEHICLES AND ACCESSORIES

A vehicle is electrically connected to one or more accessories. The vehicle includes at least one controller that may be configured to identify the accessory based on accessory identification information. The controller may also be configured to provide one or more commands to control an operation of the accessory.

Systems and methods to entertain an occupant of a vehicle

The disclosure is generally directed to in-vehicle entertainment systems and methods. An example method executed by processor of a vehicle may include displaying an iconic representation containing a first icon representing a musical instrument and a second icon representing a vehicle component. The processor may detect an assigning of the musical instrument to the vehicle component. The assigning may be carried out, for example, by a driver of the vehicle executing a drag-and-operation to overlap the first icon with second icon. The processor may then detect a physical contact made upon the vehicle component and generate, based on detecting the physical contact, a musical sound corresponding to the musical instrument.
