A display device includes: a display panel including first and second pixels; a light controlling layer on the display panel, and including an alignment key layer, and light blocking layers including first and second light blocking parts; and a window layer on the light controlling layer. The first light blocking part encloses an entirety of the first pixel in a plan view. The second light blocking part is opened at a first side of the second pixel in a first direction, and encloses a second side of the first pixel in a second direction. The display device is to operate in a first mode in which the first pixel is to provide light, or a second mode in which the second pixel is to provide light. The alignment key layer is located in a same layer as that of at least one of the light blocking layers.

INPUT DEVICE OF OR FOR A VEHICLE FOR INPUTTING COMMANDS FOR TRIGGERING VEHICLE RELATED FUNCTIONS AND VEHICLE COMPRISING SUCH AN INPUT DEVICE

The present invention relates to an input device of or for a vehicle for inputting commands for triggering vehicle related functions. The input device includes a housing enclosing a cavity, a vibration generating unit arranged in the cavity and including an exciter for generating vibrations or impulses, a decoupling unit by which the vibration generating unit is fastened to the housing, an input panel for inputting commands for triggering vehicle related functions by touching the input panel, the input panel being supported in the input device such that vibrations generated by the vibration generating unit are transferred to the input panel, thereby providing haptic feedback, and at least one light guide arranged in the cavity for guiding light generated by a light source to the input panel for illuminating the same. Moreover, the present invention is drawn to a vehicle comprising such an input device.

Transparent display systems and methods

A transparent display system comprises a transparent display, a touch-sensitive layer, and a heater layer. The touch-sensitive layer is connected to the transparent display and is configured to detect a user's touch on the transparent display. The heater layer is connected to the transparent display and comprises a trace array and one or more electrodes. The electrodes are operable to activate the trace array to generate heat in the location of the user's touch to generate thermo-haptic feedback to communicate information to the user.

Information apparatus and menu display method

A vehicle state detection unit detects whether a vehicle including an information apparatus is in motion or stopped. A display control unit displays operation items related to various functions provided by the information apparatus on a display. A function execution unit executes a function corresponding to a selected operation item. An identification unit identifies the frequency of use of each operation item by classifying the items according to whether the vehicle is in motion or stopped. The display control unit further displays on a prescribed menu screen in which some of the operation items are aggregated. On the prescribed menu screen, when the vehicle is in motion, the operation item identified as having a high frequency of use when the vehicle is in motion is displayed, and when the vehicle is stopped, the operation item identified as having a high frequency of use when the vehicle is stopped is displayed.

An apparatus for operation of an autonomous vehicle is disclosed. A deployment mechanism is coupled to a convertible interface. The convertible interface includes a rod having a first end and a second end, a touch-sensitive surface connected to the rod at the first end, and a universal joint connected to the rod at the second end, wherein the rod is configured to rotate about the universal joint. The deployment mechanism is configured to move the convertible interface between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the touch-sensitive surface receives a command when an operator moves a pointing device along the touch-sensitive surface in a gesture that indicates the command. In the second position, the convertible interface receives the command when the operator moves the touch-sensitive surface to cause a rotation at the universal joint that indicates the command.
