A vehicle intent indication system includes a sensor, a display, and a controller. The sensor is configured to detect an object in an operating environment of a vehicle. The display is configured to display a pattern visible to a person in the operating environment of the vehicle. The display includes light emitting components configured to be selectively illuminated to display the pattern. The controller is configured to receive information from the sensor indicating that the object has been detected in the operating environment and to cause the light emitting components to be selectively illuminated to display the pattern in response to receiving the information from the sensor. The pattern in configured to inform the person in the operating environment of the vehicle of an intent of the vehicle to perform a driving maneuver.

An apparatus and methods for rotating a console display device of a vehicle are disclosed. The apparatus includes a display device; a rotation mechanism connected to the display device and configured to rotate the display device between a portrait orientation and a landscape orientation; a touch bar having at least one button; and a memory storing instructions. The instructions include receiving a request from a user via the touch bar to rotate the display device from the portrait orientation to the landscape orientation; sending a message to the user via the display device providing a time for the user to cancel the request; executing, via the rotation mechanism, a rotation of the display device from the portrait orientation to the landscape orientation after the provided time to cancel the request elapses; and sending a signal to disable vehicle movement.

Lane change advisor

A computing device in a vehicle, programmed to pilot a vehicle by adaptive cruise control and determine a lane change maneuver based on the adaptive cruise control and determined traffic in an adjacent lane. The computing device can display a prompt to an occupant based on the lane change maneuver.

An information provision system mounted on a vehicle includes: a visual device configured to visually provide information to an occupant of the vehicle; and a controller configured to control the visual device. The controller is further configured to: cause the visual device to provide first information in a first period; cause the visual device to provide second information different from the first information in a second period later than the first period; and set at least one of a luminance and a saturation of the visual device in at least a part of an information switching period between the first period and the the second period to be lower than that in the first period and the second period.

Operating element for operating an entertainment system of a motor vehicle

An operating element for operating an entertainment system for a motor vehicle, having an interface to a media playback unit and at least one panelling element for a vehicle compartment panelling. The operating element is an element of the panelling element. The operating element is configured for an entertainment system and is able to be stowed easily in a motor vehicle.

TRACTION CONTROL GUIDANCE SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING GUIDED TRACTION CONTROL SETTINGS BASED ON VEHICLE FRICTION CONDITIONS
20240075937 · 2024-03-07 ·

Traction control guidance system for providing guided traction control settings based on vehicle friction conditions. The traction control guidance system is configured to receive data relating to friction conditions experienced by the vehicle. The traction control guidance system is configured to compare the friction data to recommended traction control setting stored in memory according to a traction control setting guidance profile and provide to a user/driver the recommendations for traction control settings to be activated as traction control setting guidance. If the user/driver accepts the traction control setting guidance, this will cause a vehicle controller to activate the traction control settings according to the traction control settings included in the traction control setting guidance. In this manner, the user/driver is presented with recommended traction control settings to be activated for the current friction conditions of the vehicle without having to manually determine and set the desired traction control settings.

Display device for vehicle

A display device for a vehicle includes a flexible display configured to be mounted in the vehicle. The display device is configured to extend and retract the flexible display to thereby change a size of a screen area of the flexible display. The display device may include a sensor configured to detect the size of the screen area, and a controller configured to, based on the size of the screen area, control a display state of information output through the flexible display.

Method for Operating a Motor Vehicle and Motor Vehicle

The disclosure relates to a method for operating a motor vehicle, in which an operating device is used to receive a user input that characterizes a selection of an ambient mode to be set from multiple predefined ambient modes, and in which a control apparatus is used to trigger the setting of a group of settings, represented by the selected ambient mode, in vehicle components of the motor vehicle that are predefined by the selected ambient mode, that are to be set, and that each provide a comfort function.

System for improved starting of a powered device including one or more threshold conditions

In at least some implementations, a system for communicating threshold conditions for use of a powered device to a user, includes an engine, a controller coupled to the engine to control starting of the engine and a first indicator associated with a first threshold condition. The first indicator has a first state when the threshold condition is not satisfied and the first indicator has a second state when the threshold condition is satisfied, and the first indicator is coupled to the controller so that the controller is responsive to a change of the state of the first indicator, and wherein the controller is adapted to provide information for display that is indicative of the state of the first indicator.

CRUISE CONTROL USER INTERFACES

The present disclosure generally relates to managing cruise control settings. A cruise control indicator is displayed at a location that corresponds to a cruise control speed concurrently with a textual indication of the cruise control speed. In response to receiving input, the textual indication ceases to be displayed after a non-zero duration while the cruise control indicator continues to be displayed.
