FIRE HYDRANT REPAIR TOOL, AND SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF USING SAME
A fire hydrant repair tool is provided for removing a main valve of a fire hydrant, wherein the main valve has a pair of ring tabs extending upwardly therefrom. The fire hydrant repair tool can include a valve key having a first receptacle and a second receptacle that are configured to receive, respectively, the first and second ring tabs. Each of the first and second receptacles can define a first face that is configured to bias against the first side of a respective ring tab of the first and second ring tabs, and a second face that is configured to bias against the second side of a respective ring tab of the first and second ring tabs. A shaft can be coupled to the valve key.
Apparatus for Diluting and Applying Firefighting Chemical
This relates to apparatus that can form dilute aqueous firefighting compositions from an aqueous concentrate.
METHOD, APPARATUS, AND SYSTEMS FOR FIRE SUPPRESSION USING SOUND WAVES
The present apparatus, method, and system utilize sound waves to suppress fires using metasurface lenses that can work in concert with detectors to amplify and optimize sound pressure level and thereby deprive a fire of needed oxygen. Metamaterial is utilized that manipulates the propagation of acoustic waves by its structural makeup rather than its interior chemical makeup, thereby adjusting the phasing of sound waves to form converging beams of constructive interference even after the waves exit the material, ultimately making long-range fire-extinguishing accomplishable.
LIFTING APPARATUS FOR HIGHLY-MOUNTED DEVICE
A lifting apparatus for a highly-mounted device includes a main body installed at a predetermined height so that a drum for winding a wire rope and a first driving motor for giving a rotating force to the drum are installed thereto; a lifting body suspended from the wire rope and having a device coupling portion provided at a lower end thereof; an accommodation structure located at a lower portion of the main body and having an open lower portion so as to be coupled with the lifting body; a stopper installed at the accommodation structure and caught by a suspending protrusion provided to the lifting body to give an anti-falling function for the lifting body; and an upper contact point and a lower contact point respectively installed at the main body and the lifting body to make contact with each other when the lifting body is moved up.
LIFTING APPARATUS FOR HIGHLY-MOUNTED DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF
Disclosed is a control method of a lifting apparatus for a highly-mounted device. The control method includes (a) outputting a descending signal in a state where the main body and the lifting body are coupled; (b) determining whether the lifting body is normally released downward from the main body according to the descending signal; and (c) stopping the driving motor or executing the step (a) again when the lifting body is not normally released downward, wherein in the step (b), it is determined whether the lifting body is normally released downward from the main body by checking whether a weight of the lifting body is applied to the wire rope.
Fireman positioning system
A fireman positioning system includes: a first radio wave emitting device and a second radio wave emitting device, spaced with a predetermined distance and utilized for correspondingly emitting a first frequency modulated signal and a second frequency modulated signal; and a position receiving device, carried or worn by a fireman, and utilized for receiving the first frequency modulating signal and the second frequency modulating signal, and can demodulate the first frequency modulated signal via a first carrier signal so as to obtain a first output signal, and demodulate the second frequency modulated signal via a second carrier signal so as to obtain a second output signal, wherein a phase difference is formed between the first output signal and the second output signal, and the position receiving device can determine a direction angle of the fireman relative to the two radio wave emitting devices via the phase difference.
Method of and apparatus for applying fire and smoke inhibiting compositions on ground surfaces before the incidence of wild-fires, and also thereafter, upon smoldering ambers and ashes to reduce smoke and suppress fire re-ignition
A method of and apparatus for making and applying a clean fire and smoke inhibiting slurry composition containing clean fire inhibiting chemicals, and cellulose or wood fiber, mixed with water and other additives, on surfaces including ground surfaces in advance of wild fire, to blanket grounds from wildfire ignition, and also application over smoldering ambers and ashes to prevent re-ignition while reducing (i) the use of significant amounts of water, (ii) the production of toxic run off water, and (iii) toxic smoke.
Fire suppression system modules and methods of sealing
Fire suppression systems (10) include modules (14x) interconnected with a centralized controller (12). The modules (14x) are configured, assembled and sealed for system operation in harsh environments. Modules of the system include a printed circuit board (PCB, 32, 132), a microprocessor (34), and an operative component (36) assembled within a housing (30, 130). A gasket member (38) is disposed about the component to form a seal about the component. Operative components may include fire detection elements (14x, 50) or an LCD screen (36, 236). Modules of the system can include an encapsulant compound for filling a void between the housing inner surface and the printed circuit board. Modules of the system can include a sealed chamber with a port to interface a computer device. A power module of the system includes a sealed housing with connectors positioned to protect against moisture and debris and an isolating switch to permit maintenance of the system.
FIRE FORECASTING
Methods, systems, and computer programs are presented for tools for fire monitoring. One method includes an operation for receiving, by a fire forecasting program, fire-related inputs including vegetation data, topography data, weather data, and fire-monitoring information. The fire-monitoring information includes the shape of fire burning in a region. Additionally, the method includes an operation for generating a fire forecast for the region based on the fire-related inputs. The fire forecast describes a state of the fire in the region at multiple times in the future, the state of the fire comprising a fire perimeter, a fire line intensity, and a flame height. Additionally, the method includes operations for receiving updated fire-monitoring information regarding a current state of the fire in the region, for modifying the fire forecast based on the updated fire-monitoring information, and for causing presentation of the fire forecast in a user interface.
