Automatic control of smartphone driver mode using ultra-wideband communication
Computer-implemented methods include detecting a device ultra-wideband (UWB) transceiver of a mobile device and a set of vehicle UWB transceivers of a vehicle, determining a defined driver zone within the vehicle, the defined driver zone indicating a set of relative positions within the vehicle, communicating between the device UWB transceiver and the set of vehicle UWB transceivers to determine a position of the mobile device within the vehicle, and automatically enabling a driver mode of the mobile device whereby operation of the mobile device is limited when the determined position of the mobile device is within the defined driver zone and the vehicle is moving.
System for improved starting of a powered device including one or more threshold conditions
In at least some implementations, a system for communicating threshold conditions for use of a powered device to a user, includes an engine, a controller coupled to the engine to control starting of the engine and a first indicator associated with a first threshold condition. The first indicator has a first state when the threshold condition is not satisfied and the first indicator has a second state when the threshold condition is satisfied, and the first indicator is coupled to the controller so that the controller is responsive to a change of the state of the first indicator, and wherein the controller is adapted to provide information for display that is indicative of the state of the first indicator.
Automated driving system
The automated driving system includes a vehicle speed detection device for detecting a speed of a vehicle, a display device capable of displaying a running lane and an adjacent lane of the vehicle, and a processor configured to control display content of the display device, and execute an autonomous lane change of the vehicle. The processor is configured to prohibit the autonomous lane change of the vehicle when a speed of the vehicle is less than a predetermined value. The processor is configured to hide the adjacent lane when the autonomous lane change is prohibited and start displaying the adjacent lane before the speed of the vehicle reaches the predetermined value if it is planned for the vehicle to accelerate from a speed below the predetermined value to a speed equal to or greater than the predetermined value in order to carry out the autonomous lane change.
Automated pacing of vehicle operator content interaction
In one example, a computing device includes one or more user input detection components, and one or more processors configured to receive an indication of a first user input detected by the one or more user input detection components, responsive to receiving the indication of the first user input, adjust a level of an attention buffer at a defined rate; responsive to determining that the level of the attention buffer satisfies a first threshold, prevent further interaction with a user interface of the computing device, responsive to determining that an indication of a second user input has not been received within a time period, adjust a level of the attention buffer, and responsive to determining that the level of the attention buffer satisfies a second threshold, allow further interaction with the user interface.
Vehicle display system
A vehicle display system includes: an operation switch configured to be provided in a vehicle and to distinguish and detect a touch and an operation of an operator; a display device configured to be provided at a position at which the operator can visually recognize the display device; and a control device configured to display, on the display device, information regarding a function to be executed when an operation with respect to the operation switch is detected when the touch of the operation switch is detected.
VEHICLE INTEGRATED CONTROLLER AND VEHICLE FUNCTION IMPLEMENTATION METHOD USING THE SAME
A vehicle integrated controller includes: a board; an integrated pattern part positioned on the board; a touch integrated circuit (IC) part connected to the integrated pattern part to detect a change in a charge amount of the integrated pattern part; and a controller connected to the touch IC part and outputting an operation signal of a function corresponding to the change in a charge amount. A plurality of function patterns are arranged separately in the integrated pattern part. Each function pattern is configured to operate a plurality of different functions of a vehicle. The vehicle integrated controller may integrate switches having different functions with each other to display and implement the functions and may have a smaller overall size and a minimum number of touch input errors.
Operator control device for a motor vehicle and method for operating a motor vehicle by using an operator control device
A touch-sensitive display device and a hand rest which can be adjusted between a first position and a second position are included in an operating device for a motor vehicle. The hand rest is arranged in the area of the display device. A control device activates a first display area of the display device and activates a manual driving mode of the motor vehicle when the hand rest is arranged in the first position. The control device activates a second display area of the display device and an autopilot of the motor vehicle when the hand rest is arranged in the second position.
Touch sensing display device and method of detecting user input from a driver side or passenger side in a motor vehicle
A touch-sensitive display apparatus and a control apparatus are included in an operating device of a motor vehicle. The control apparatus is configured, in a first operating mode, to display on the display apparatus a screen keyboard for receiving a character sequence from a user. A driver is not to operate the on-screen keyboard during a journey. A sensor apparatus is configured to detect an approach of an object to the display apparatus, a distinction being drawn between a driver approach from a predetermined driver side and a passenger approach from a passenger side opposite the driver side. The control apparatus is configured to deactivate the first operating mode in the event of a detected driver approach of the object and, instead, to activate an alternative operating mode that is different from the first operating mode.

Arranged between a steering wheel (or more generally, steering handle) and a windshield of a motor vehicle, a control panel module has at least on e operator control element, each arranged on one side of a steering column of the steering wheel. The at least one operator control element is rotatable about an axis of rotation and/or movably at least along a longitudinal direction of the motor vehicle with respect, to a driver's seat. An actuator device of the control panel module respectively moves the at least one operator control element response to a control device of the control panel module, depending on at least one enable signal, into an enable position and, depending on at least one position signal, from the enable position into position corresponding in each case the position signal.
