CENTRAL CONTROL HUB FOR SEMI-AUTONOMOUS ELECTRIC VEHICLES
A motor vehicle includes a plurality of seats. Each seat receives a respective human occupant of the motor vehicle. A movable driver control interface enables a human occupant to drive the motor vehicle. A positioning mechanism is coupled to the driver control interface and enables a human occupant to move the driver control interface to a position in front of any one of the seats such that any one of the human occupants may use the driver control interface to drive the motor vehicle.
ASSEMBLY, TRANSPORTATION VEHICLE AND METHOD FOR ASSISTING A USER OF A TRANSPORTATION VEHICLE
An assembly, a transportation vehicle and a method for assisting a user of a transportation vehicle. The method includes determining a change of an operating state of the transportation vehicle and displaying a command button for operating a function of the transportation vehicle at a new position in response to the change of the operating state of the transportation vehicle.
System and method for controlling a vehicle display in a moving vehicle
A method and system for controlling one or more functions associated with a vehicle display includes providing a steering wheel having a left zone and a right zone. The method includes determining a left contact value and a right contact value based on at least one of a plurality of sensors of the steering wheel. Further, the method includes comparing the left contact value to a left contact threshold that maximizes contact of a left hand with the steering wheel within the left zone and comparing the right contact value to a right contact threshold that maximizes contact of a right hand with the steering wheel within the right zone. Upon determining a non-driving passenger is present in the vehicle, the one or more functions associated with the vehicle display are enabled or disabled.
PROCESSING METHOD, PROGRAM, PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND DETECTION SYSTEM
A processing method for a processing apparatus is disclosed. The processing method causes a computer of the processing apparatus to perform a process. The process includes detecting a position and a sleep state of a passenger inside a vehicle on a basis of information indicating a state of space including seats of the vehicle. The information is obtained from a sensor provided inside the vehicle. The process also includes notifying an operator of the vehicle of the detected position and the detected sleep state of the passenger. Further, the process also includes transmitting, upon detecting an operation, the operation being performed by the operator of the vehicle in response to the notifying, for controlling a device near the detected position of the passenger, a control command corresponding to the operation to the device.
Disabling onboard input devices in an autonomous vehicle
Systems and methods for disabling autonomous vehicle input devices are provided. In one example embodiment, a computer implemented method includes identifying an operating mode of an autonomous vehicle. The method includes determining one or more vehicle input devices to be disabled based at least in part on the operating mode of the autonomous vehicle. The vehicle input devices are located onboard the autonomous vehicle. The method includes disabling the one or more vehicle input devices based at least in part on the identified operating mode of the autonomous vehicle such that an input by a user with respect to the one or more vehicle input devices does not affect an operation of the autonomous vehicle.
Method for a situation-controlled display of an actuation element
A method for a situation-controlled display of an actuation element for a function in a vehicle on a touch-sensitive display surface operable by a person using the vehicle involves the actuation element as a blocking element for a window lifter of the vehicle. The actuation element is always displayed if a child is detected on a seat in the vehicle, and a window lifter associated with the seat is actuated, if a contradicting actuation of window lifters for the same window is carried out, the window lifters being accessible to different people in the vehicle, and/or if the occurring actuation of the window lifters deviates from the conventional actuation type.
SYSTEM FOR PREVENTING DRUNK DRIVING AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME
Disclosed are a drunk driving prevention system and a method of controlling the system that includes a sensor module measuring a alcohol content in the exhaled breath of a driver during a breath-checking of the driver and a control module configured to check the intoxication state of the driver from the alcohol content measured by the sensor module to determine whether the breath-checking is complete and block an engine start when the breath-checking fails, wherein the control module includes a check unit displaying breath-checking guide information through a display unit and the check unit displays the breath-checking guide information based on an engine start input of the driver.
Apparatus and method for controlling driving of vehicle
An apparatus for controlling a vehicle includes a vehicle state detector for detecting a vehicle state, a function unit that performs at least one vehicle function, an operation unit that enables a transmission operation to allow selection of a transmission stage from among a plurality of transmission stages, and a position adjusting unit to switch the operation unit between a first position where the transmission operation is disabled and a second position where the transmission operation is enabled, by rotating the operation unit with respect to the functional unit, based on the detected vehicle state.
Vehicle control panel with passenger detection for function enablement
The invention is an apparatus used for providing control of functions of a vehicle in response to touch commands of an authorized passenger. The functions for which the authorized passenger is provided control are disallowed to the driver when the vehicle is moving. The passenger is authorized with two-factor authentication. The first of the two factors is the fingerprint of the passenger which is enrolled before vehicle movement. The second factor is the location of the passenger. The first factor is used when an occupant attempts to control disallowed functions. The second factor is used when an occupant attempts to enroll a fingerprint. A display panel displays a prompt to enroll a fingerprint before vehicle movement, uses a fingerprint interface to enroll an original fingerprint, and instantaneously captures fingerprints of those attempting to control disallowed functions and compares them to enrolled fingerprints.
Multi-information display software switch strategy
A vehicular human-machine interface, an instrument cluster and a method of providing information to a driver of a vehicle. The interface includes a multi-information display that provides a driver numerous dynamically-adjustable icons that are representative of a vehicle systems such that the driver can view, and if necessary, control through the interface. During use by a driver to navigate among the various icons being displayed, the human-machine interface enhances a driver's visual acuity by providing notorious indicia of the status of a particular vehicle system that may be of interest to the driver. In addition, by having certain information be arranged in a dynamic presentation format for selective viewing rather than arranged statically, certain information not of immediate interest can be temporarily removed, thereby freeing up the display to show a larger number of the icons on any particular screen being viewed.
