Based on the input member being in the first state, the body part is configured to be placed in a first position, and the display part is configured to turn on, based on the input member being in the second state, the body part is configured to be placed in a second position, and the display part is configured to turn on, and based on the input member being in the third state, the body part is configured to be placed in the second position, and the display part is configured to turn off.

CONTEXTUAL AND AWARE BUTTON-FREE SCREEN ARTICULATION

A system for directing content among a plurality of displays. The content may be selected by a user or may be determined by an event, such as a user-interactive input or an input initiated by an event associated with a vehicle system. The input command causes selected content to be moved from a first display to a second display. The input command causes articulation of the second display in order to display the selected content The input command may come from a portable device, or a user interactive command such as a voice command, a visual command such as a gesture, or a touch command. The input command may also come from a vehicle system, such as a navigation system, an infotainment system, a climate control system to name a few.

VEHICULAR CONTROL SYSTEM WITH TRAFFIC LANE DETECTION

A vehicular control system includes a forward viewing camera disposed at an in-cabin side of a windshield of a vehicle and viewing forward of the vehicle. Road curvature of a road along which the vehicle is traveling is determined responsive at least in part to processing by an image processor of image data captured by the camera. Responsive at least in part to processing of captured image data, a traffic lane of the road along which the vehicle is traveling is determined. Upon approach of the vehicle to a curve in the road, speed of the vehicle is reduced to a reduced speed for traveling around the curve in the road at least in part responsive to at least one selected from the group consisting of (a) processing of image data captured by the forward viewing camera and (b) data relevant to a current geographical location of the equipped vehicle.

IMAGE CAPTURE DEVICE AND VEHICLE

An image capture device is mounted in a vehicle. The image capture device includes: an image capture unit; and a setting unit that sets an image capture condition for each region of the image capture unit each having a plurality of pixels, or for each pixel, based upon at least one of a state exterior to the vehicle and a state of the vehicle.

Provided are a rear camera and a door camera provided at different positions and configured to image vehicle surroundings rearward from a vehicle, and a monitor configured to display a composite image merging captured images captured by the respective cameras and to display a blind spot advisory image to advise of a blind spot in the composite image.

Systems and methods for detecting an object

Systems and methods are provided for detecting an object in front of a vehicle. In one implementation, an object detecting system includes an image capture device configured to acquire a plurality of images of an area, a data interface, and a processing device programmed to compare a first image to a second image to determine displacement vectors between pixels, to search for a region of coherent expansion that is a set of pixels in at least one of the first image and the second image, for which there exists a common focus of expansion and a common scale magnitude such that the set of pixels satisfy a relationship between pixel positions, displacement vectors, the common focus of expansion, and the common scale magnitude, and to identify presence of a substantially upright object based on the set of pixels.

Processing method, program, processing apparatus, and detection system

A processing method for a processing apparatus is disclosed. The processing method causes a computer of the processing apparatus to perform a process. The process includes detecting a position and a sleep state of a passenger inside a vehicle on a basis of information indicating a state of space including seats of the vehicle. The information is obtained from a sensor provided inside the vehicle. The process also includes notifying an operator of the vehicle of the detected position and the detected sleep state of the passenger. Further, the process also includes transmitting, upon detecting an operation, the operation being performed by the operator of the vehicle in response to the notifying, for controlling a device near the detected position of the passenger, a control command corresponding to the operation to the device.

Command processing using multimodal signal analysis

A first set of signals corresponding to a first signal modality (such as the direction of a gaze) during a time interval is collected from an individual. A second set of signals corresponding to a different signal modality (such as hand-pointing gestures made by the individual) is also collected. In response to a command, where the command does not identify a particular object to which the command is directed, the first and second set of signals is used to identify candidate objects of interest, and an operation associated with a selected object from the candidates is performed.

Vehicle display image enhancement

An image enhancement system in a vehicle includes a forward looking light sensor, an ambient light sensor, and an electronic control unit. The forward looking light sensor is configured to sense a forward looking light seen by a driver to generate a forward luminance value. The ambient light sensor is configured to sense an ambient light seen by the driver to generate an ambient luminance value. The electronic control unit is configured to calculate a display luminance control value based on the forward luminance value and the ambient luminance value, analyze a video image in a video input signal to determine multiple shades of gray within the video image, adjust the shades of gray in the video image based on the forward luminance value, the ambient luminance value, and the display luminance control value to generate the enhanced video image, and present the enhanced video image to the display.
