Provided is a vehicle capable of: acquiring an image of a road in front of a vehicle in an autonomous driving mode; recognizing a lane line, a subject lane, and an obstacle on the acquired image of the road; determining whether the recognized obstacle is in a stationary state based on obstacle information detected by an obstacle detector; acquiring, if the obstacle in the stationary state exists on at least one of two subject lane lines constituting the subject lane, a width of involvement of the lane line crossed by the obstacle; determining whether keeping of travelling on the subject lane is to be performed based on the acquired width of involvement; performing a deflection control within the subject lane to avoid the obstacle in the stationary state if it is determined that the keeping of travelling on the subject lane is to be performed; and performing control of departure from the subject lane or deceleration control if it is determined that the keeping of travelling on the subject lane is not to be performed.

When executed, the one or more processor-readable instructions cause the processor to receive a driving mode input signal, the driving mode input signal corresponding to one or more driving conditions, determine a corresponding driving mode based on the driving mode input signal, adjust a first driving mode to the corresponding driving mode, and generate a notification of the adjustment from the first driving mode to the corresponding driving mode.
PASSIVE INFRA-RED GUIDANCE SYSTEM
A passive infra-red guidance system and method for augmenting operation of a vehicle on a roadway includes at least one forward-looking infra-red imaging sensor mounted on the vehicle in operative communication with an image processor tied into the vehicle's operational system. The system identifies the presence of one or more melting agents arranged on the roadway using thermal imaging to detect a thermal contrast between the portion(s) of the roadway surface treated with the one or more melting agents and the untreated portion(s) of the roadway surface, and then determines the centerline of the travel lane in which the vehicle is travelling based on the identified melting agent(s). The system then compares the determined centerline of the travel lane with the actual position of the vehicle and identifies any adjustment needed for the vehicle's position based on the comparison.
Vehicular control system with traffic lane detection
A vehicular control system includes a forward viewing camera disposed at an in-cabin side of a windshield of a vehicle and viewing forward of the vehicle. Road curvature of a road along which the vehicle is traveling is determined responsive at least in part to processing by an image processor of image data captured by the camera. Responsive at least in part to processing of captured image data, a traffic lane of the road along which the vehicle is traveling is determined. Responsive at least in part to processing of captured image data, another vehicle present on the road and forward of the vehicle may be detected. Responsive at least in part to processing of captured image data, the system may determine that the detected other vehicle is travelling in a traffic lane to the left or to the right of the traffic lane along which the vehicle is traveling.
