LIGHT DIRECTING FILTERS
A light directing filter may include one or more glass layers, one or more arrays of barriers within the glass layer, and one or more arrays of openings defined by the array(s) of barriers. An array of barriers may block transmission of light through the glass layer. An array of openings may allow transmission of light through the glass layer. One or more light directing filters may be included in a display system for a vehicle. The light directing filter(s) of the display system may allow a vehicle passenger to view visual information presented on the display system while not allowing a vehicle driver to view the visual information.
DISPLAY DEVICE AND VEHICLE HEAD-UP DISPLAY APPARATUS
A display device and a vehicle head-up display apparatus of the present disclosure include a substrate, light source devices, a transmission-type display panel, and an illumination optical system. The light source devices are disposed on the substrate. The illumination optical system guides illumination light from the light source devices to the display panel. The illumination optical system includes a first reflector, a quarter-wave plate, and a reflective polarizer. The first reflector is disposed at a different position on the substrate than the light source devices. The quarter-wave plate is disposed between the first reflector and the display panel. The reflective polarizer is disposed between the quarter-wave plate and the display panel.
DISPLAY DEVICE AND VEHICLE HAVING THE SAME
A display device for installation in a vehicle can include a first display configured to output first light forming first visual information; and a light synthesizing unit configured to pass the first light through the light synthesizing unit, and reflect second light and third light generated by different light sources, in which the light synthesizing unit includes a first light synthesizing portion disposed with a first surface of the first light synthesizing portion facing a first direction, and the first light synthesizing portion is configured to pass the first light through the first light synthesizing portion and reflect the second light; and a second light synthesizing portion disposed with a second surface of the second light synthesizing portion facing a second direction different from the first direction, and the second light synthesizing portion is configured to pass the first light through the second light synthesizing portion and reflect the third light.
Dual graphics label for an input area of control device
A dual graphic label for an input element of a control device for selectively displaying a first graphic information and a second graphic information includes a first light source, a second light source, an optical masking shield, a light conducting body, and a display face. The optical masking shield has a light blocking surface with a light permeable area in a shape of the first graphic information. The light conducting body has a surface with a light diffusion area in a shape of the second graphic information. The first light source emits a first light ray and the second light source emits a second light ray. The optical masking shield is arranged between the first light source and the light conducting body, and the light conducting body is arranged between the display face and the optical masking shield.
HEAD UP DISPLAY SYSTEM
A coated substrate, including a transparent substrate provided with a p-polarized light reflective coating. The p-polarized light reflective coating contains, in sequence starting from a substrate surface, optionally a first coating containing one or more layers of a high refractive index material, optionally a second coating containing one or more layers of a low refractive index material, a third coating containing one or more layers of a high refractive index material, a fourth coating containing one or more layers of a low refractive index material, and further including at least one first layer of absorbent material.
DISTRIBUTED OPTICAL ARCHITECTURE FOR VEHICLE HEAD UP DISPLAY
A vehicle includes a vehicle chassis that defines an in-cabin volume of the vehicle; a windshield mounted to the vehicle chassis; a dashboard including a dashboard interior volume that is separated from the in-cabin volume; a head-up display (HUD) reflector arranged within the dashboard interior volume; and an image generation unit configured to generate a plurality of pixel light beams corresponding to an image and transmit the plurality of pixel light beams on an optical path towards the HUD reflector. The image generation unit is arranged within the in-cabin volume and external to the dashboard interior volume. The HUD reflector is configured to receive the plurality of pixel light beams from the image generation unit and project the image onto the windshield by reflecting the plurality of pixel light beams back into the in-cabin volume and onto the windshield.
DISPLAY DEVICE AND OPTICAL ELEMENT
A display device has a display portion and a polarizing plate, the polarizing plate being provided on a viewing side of the display portion and having a transmission axis in a vertical direction with respect to the display portion, wherein at least one tilt orientation phase difference film is provided on a viewing side of the polarizing plate, and the tilt orientation phase difference film has such an arrangement structure that does not cause a phase difference for light emitted upward in the vertical direction, and causes a phase difference for light emitted in a lateral direction perpendicular to the vertical direction.
HEAD UP DISPLAY DEVICE AND SYSTEM
The present disclosure provides a head up display device and system, relating to the field of display technology. The head up display device includes: a first display image generator, configured to generate a first linearly polarized light containing a first image; a second display image generator configured to generate a second linearly polarized light containing a second image; wherein the polarization direction of the first linearly polarized light is perpendicular to the polarization direction of the second linearly polarized light; a first polarizing beam splitter configured to combine the first linearly polarized light and the second linearly polarized light; and an optical component containing a plurality of reflective imaging elements, wherein the optical component is configured to reflect the first image and the second image into a user's eye.
Projection display device
A projection display device includes: a light source that emits a first and a second laser lights; a scanning drive mirror that reflects the first and the second laser lights, and uses the first and the second laser lights in scanning; a light diffusion unit that includes a predetermined region that allows the first laser light to be transmitted therethrough, and diffuses the first laser light; a light detection unit that detects the second laser light that passed the predetermined region; and a control unit that executes a process to detect the second laser light, and determines a state of the predetermined region on the basis of a detection value of the light detection unit. In a case where the control unit determines that a defect occurs in the predetermined region as the state, the control unit executes a process to stop displaying the projection.
