Autonomous Vehicle Interface System with Multiple Interface Devices Featuring Redundant Vehicle Commands
20250083519 · 2025-03-13 ·

The present disclosure provides an autonomous vehicle and associated interface system that includes multiple vehicle interface computing devices that provide redundant vehicle commands. As one example, an autonomous vehicle interface system can include a first vehicle interface computing device located within the autonomous vehicle and physically coupled to the autonomous vehicle. The first vehicle interface computing device can provide a first plurality of selectable vehicle commands to a human passenger of the autonomous vehicle. The autonomous vehicle interface system can further include a second vehicle interface computing device that provides a second plurality of selectable vehicle commands to the human passenger. For example, the second vehicle interface computing device can be the passenger's own device (e.g., smartphone). The second plurality of selectable vehicle commands can include at least some of the same vehicle commands as the first plurality of selectable vehicle commands.

Methods and systems for a complete vehicle ecosystem are provided. Specifically, systems that when taken alone, or together, provide an individual or group of individuals with an intuitive and comfortable vehicular environment. The present disclosure includes a universal chassis that may be mounted in the head unit of a vehicle. The chassis may accept one or more modules that each have common dimensions. With a common form factor, the universal chassis is configurable as different modules with different functionality may be inserted into the chassis with ease.

Infotainment system having awareness of local dynamic features

A vehicle and many dynamic features move relative to the same reference frame. An infotainment system responds to a request from an occupant of a vehicle to provide information concerning a particular dynamic feature. The occupant provides the infotainment system with information concerning a bearing to the dynamic feature and the infotainment system identifies the dynamic feature in response.

The present disclosure describes a vehicle including a first wireless interface configured to communicate with an external computational device using a first wireless communication protocol, and a second wireless interface configured to communicate with the external computational device using a second wireless communication protocol that is different from the first wireless communication protocol. The vehicle further includes a network controller having a network selector configured to select either the first wireless communication protocol or the second wireless communication protocol for communication with the external computational device. The selection is based on one or more signals received at the network controller from the external computational device. The network selector selects the first wireless communication protocol to communicate with the external computational device at a first time, and selects the second wireless communication protocol to communicate with the external computational device at a second time different from the first time.

SIGNAL PROCESSING DEVICE AND DISPLAY APPARATUS FOR VEHICLES INCLUDING THE SAME

A signal processing device and a display apparatus for vehicles including the same are disclosed. The signal processing device includes a processor and a graphic processor configured to perform signal processing for a display mounted in a vehicle, wherein the processor is configured to execute a server virtual machine and a plurality of guest virtual machines on a hypervisor in the processor, and execute a workload balance server to control display off, operation mode change, or application forced termination based on workload data received from the plurality of guest virtual machines. Accordingly, the signal processing device can be utilized efficiently.
