An actuating device for controlling a functional component of a motor vehicle is arranged on the motor vehicle. The motor vehicle has a functional component for providing a vehicle function and a display actuation device arranged on the motor vehicle for controlling a functional component. The display actuation device has a display providing visually detectable function actuation elements. In order to activate a vehicle function the display actuation device has a release device so that the display can be actuated between a blocking position blocking the actuation of the function actuation elements and an active position releasing the actuation of the function actuation elements. The display actuation device has a key element that cooperates with the release device and, when cooperating with the release device, actuates the display means into the active position.

APPARATUS AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING VEHICLE EQUIPPED WITH OPERATING SWITCH LINKED TO TOUCH PANEL OF DIGITAL SIDE MIRROR SYSTEM

An apparatus for controlling a vehicle according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes: a processor; a memory storing one or more programs configured to be executed by the processor; and the one or more programs include instructions for: a first determination unit configured to determine whether the vehicle is in a driving state; a first controller configured to deactivate a touch mode of the touch panel provided in the digital side mirror system when the vehicle is determined to be in the driving state; a second determination unit configured to determine whether the vehicle is in a switch mode for controlling the function of the vehicle through the operating switch; and a second controller configured to control a driver to perform a function from a menu selected through the operating switch when the vehicle is determined to be in the switch mode.

ADJUSTABLE DOOR ASSEMBLY FOR VEHICLE DOOR, VENTILATION SYSTEM FOR OFF-ROAD VEHICLE INCLUDING SAME, AND VEHICLE
20240279960 · 2024-08-22 ·

An adjustable door assembly for a vehicle door can include a striker and an adjustable mechanism connected to the striker that moves the striker to any of a plurality of positions that range from a first position through a second position. The adjustable mechanism can include one of a geared mechanism and a cam lock mechanism. The geared mechanism can include a pinion gear and a rack gear engaging the pinion gear. The striker can be mounted onto the rack gear to move the striker to any of the plurality of positions. The cam lock mechanism can include a first tube, a second tube telescoping in the first tube, a locking bolt, and a lever. The lever can selectively move the locking bolt to an unlocked state that permits the second tube to telescope inside the first tube and move the striker between the first position and the second position.

Target identification for vehicle see-through applications

Examples of the disclosure relate to example systems and methods for operating a see-through display for a vehicle. An example system includes a video camera positioned to capture video related to a vehicle structure that blocks a view of the driver. The system also includes a see-through display disposed inside the vehicle between the vehicle structure and the driver. The system also includes a processor configured to identify a closest object within a field of view of the video camera, determine a distance to the closest object, and process the captured video based, at least in part, on the distance to determine a portion of the captured video to be displayed on the see-through display. The processor renders the portion of the captured video to create a see-through effect relative to the vehicle structure.

Device and Method for Controlling a Display Device in a Motor Vehicle
20180251031 · 2018-09-06 ·

A method for controlling a display device in a motor vehicle includes detecting a person's body posture using sensors that generate corresponding sensor values, and determining, based on the detected sensor values, whether the person is in a normotonic posture. The method also includes determining a distance between the person's eyes and the display device if the person is determined to be in a normotonic posture, and adjusting predetermined display parameters on the display device based on the distance of the person's eyes from the display device.

A-Pillar Video Monitor System
20180072156 · 2018-03-15 ·

An embodiment of A-Pillar Video Monitor System is provided for a motor vehicle to permit the driver to view traffic conditions (e.g. running children, approaching cars, etc.) from sides of the vehicle. Left or right video cameras are mounted on the left sides or right sides of the motor vehicle. Each camera attachment has a miniature video camera viewing angle directed generally sides, and a housing or shroud that is in the form of an aerodynamic fairing disposed over the associated camera to protect the same and to minimize the amount of protuberance laterally from the side of the vehicle. The fairing also avoids unnecessary airflow turbulence, thereby streamlining the vehicle. The images viewed from these camera assemblies reproduced on a curved viewing screen or monitor, which is seamlessly integrated with A-Pillars of the vehicle. The driver can easily observe the conditions in all sides without having to divert his or her attention from the road ahead. In case of airbag activation, the curved monitor would opened to protect the driver and the airbag is deployed.

DISPLAY DEVICE FOR VEHICLE

A display device for a vehicle includes a collision predictor, a display member, and a display controller. The collision predictor detects a moving body sideward of a course of the vehicle and predicts collision of the vehicle with the moving body detected. The display member provides display of an image or display of a mark, for view of a driver seated on a driver's seat of the vehicle. The image or the mark corresponds to the moving body. The display controller performs a control of the display member. The display controller changes the display of the image or the display of the mark more significantly than a motion of the moving body as actually seen from the driver's seat, on a condition that the collision predictor predicts the collision.
