A fuel cell system installed in a vehicle includes: a fuel cell; a secondary battery; a load including a drive motor and an air compressor; a fuel cell converter; a secondary battery converter; a failure detection unit; a first state determination unit; a reverse rotation detection unit; and a control unit. The control unit performs a limp-home traveling control that supplies electric power from the secondary battery to the drive motor when the secondary battery converter fails. When the vehicle is not in the first state, the control unit prohibits regeneration of the drive motor. When the vehicle is in the first state, the control unit supplies a reaction current to the air compressor. When the reaction current is applied and a reverse rotation of the air compressor is detected, the control unit does not apply the reaction current thereafter.

A method for increasing safety in the surroundings of an electric vehicle having a fuel cell system and batteries, wherein the vehicle is configured for charging the batteries by power from the fuel cell system and e.g. produces CO2 during this operation, even when the vehicle is turned-off and in a parked situation, wherein the method includes the steps of providing a sensor system having a gas intake and configured for warning against elevated CO2 levels in the surroundings of the vehicle, mounting the sensor system on the vehicle with the gas intake outside the vehicle's cabin, providing an alarm when the sensor system evaluates that the CO2 levels in the surroundings of the vehicle are elevated and surpass a predetermined threshold level.
Startup control method and control system for fuel cell
A startup control method for a fuel cell is provided. The method includes calculating available power of a high-voltage battery when a startup of the fuel cell is requested. An air compressor is then driven based on a calculated magnitude of the available power of the high-voltage battery and a low-voltage battery is charged with the power of the high-voltage battery after the driving of the air compressor is completed.

A motor control system for a commercial vehicle having an electric axle includes: first and second motors disposed in a rear-wheel electric axle; an accelerator position sensor for detecting a degree to which an accelerator is depressed; a wheel speed sensor detecting a wheel speed change; and a controller determining a driver's required torque on the basis of detection signals of the accelerator position sensor and the wheel speed sensor and then controlling a torque of the first motor in such a manner as to approach target torque for satisfying the driver's required torque and at the same time either controlling either a torque of the second motor to a level that compensates for a torque error of the first motor or controlling the torque of the first motor and the torque of the second motor at alternating fixed duty ratios.
