System and method for reclining a vehicle seat
09796297 · 2017-10-24 · ·

A system for reclining a vehicle seat is provided. The system comprises a plurality of seat bracket spacers adapted to be secured between a seat mounting bracket and a vehicle floor. A plurality of leg spacers is adapted to be secured between a seat leg and the vehicle floor. The seat bracket spacers create a fixed seat recline while the leg spacers accommodate a gap between respective seat legs and the vehicle floor caused by the fixed seat recline. Each of the seat bracket spacers has a thickness which allows for the maximum amount of seat recline without any modification to factory brackets, legs, or mounting bolts. Additionally, the fixed seat recline does not impact operation of factory safety restraining devices; nor does it impact the ability of the vehicle seat to fold forward.

Vehicle seat

A vehicle seat compactly stowed in a stowed state while suppressing contact between pivot links. A stowable seat includes an inner link, an outer link, and a guide link coupled to a seat cushion of the seat, the links are pivoted with respect to a vehicle body floor in order to move the seat cushion to a stowed position. The inner link, the outer link, and the guide link are arranged at positions different from each other in the width direction of the seat so that contact between the pivot links is suppressed. Further, the guide link is arranged at a position different from the inner link and the outer link in the front to back direction of the seat so that the seat can be compactly stowed.

Vehicle seat with a locking unit

A vehicle seat (1) includes a structural part (3) which has a lock connection plate (60) and a locking unit (10) which is fixed to the lock connection plate (60). The locking unit (10) has at least one bearing bolt (51) with a passage opening (55). The lock connection plate (60) also comprises at least one mating contour (62) which projects into the passage opening (55) in the at least one bearing bolt (51).

Seat pad and seat for vehicle

Ridge portions 9 are provided to be continuously present in orthogonally intersecting directions by forming plural recessed holes 8 in the upper surface of an under-thighs portion 2 and an under-buttocks portion 3 of a seat pad 1 for a vehicle. The height of each ridge portion 9, i.e. the depth h of each recessed hole 8, is preferably in the range of 2 to 40 mm, more preferably in the range of 5 to 20 mm, the width w of each recessed hole 8 is preferably in the range of 10 to 30 mm, more preferably in the range of 20 to 30 mm, and the area of an opening of each recessed hole 8 is preferably in the range of 50 to 1000 mm.sup.2, more preferably in the range of 100 to 900 mm.sup.2. Accordingly, the present invention can provide a seat pad, which is excellent in soft sensation of touch of a surface thereof, satisfactory in the properties of supporting an occupant, and can be produced by integral foam molding.
