Flexible seatback system
A vehicle seat suspension system includes first and second side supports that define a seatback frame. A front trim piece is coupled between the first and second side supports. A suspension component is coupled with a central area of the front trim piece and has flexible members protruding forward and outward therefrom. A passenger support panel has a periphery coupled to distal ends of the flexible members and suspended away from the seatback frame.
Conveyance seat
A conveyance seat includes a seatback frame disposed in a seatback and supporting an end of a wire member for supporting an occupant in a manner such that the wire member is movable. The seatback frame includes a supporting plane part that the end of the wire member is disposed therein, the supporting plane part being provided along a direction perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the wire member. A support portion that supports the wire member in a manner such that the wire member is movable is formed in the supporting plane part.
Displaceable panel for seating assembly
A vehicle seating assembly includes a seat and a seatback. The seatback includes a frame that has opposing first and second frame members and first and second displaceable panels that are pivotably coupled to the first and second frame members. The first and second displaceable panels are movable between stored positions and deployed positions in response to a force exerted on the seatback.
Kinematic seat with elastic pivot
Embodiments of the present invention provide an improved pivot articulation for a kinematic seat. Certain embodiments provide an elastic pivot that is formed as flexion weaves that connect upper and lower portions of a seat back. The flexion weaves may be inner and outer legs that are curved in configuration or that have bent dimensions.
Kinetic seat assemblies having dampers for fixed components and movable components including lateral damping mechanisms and fluid reservoirs
A kinetic seat assembly includes a primary seat cushion frame, a secondary seat cushion frame movable relative to the primary seat cushion frame, a primary seat back frame, a secondary seat back frame movable relative to the primary seat back frame, a pair of lateral dampers extending between the primary seat back frame and the secondary seat back frame, a pair of vertical dampers extending between the secondary seat back frame and the primary seat cushion frame, a pair of fluid reservoirs for providing a fluid into the pair of lateral dampers and the pair of vertical dampers, and an electronic control unit configured to control the rate at which the fluid is provided to and drawn out of each of the dampers to control a damping effect. In embodiments, an end of the lateral dampers is permitted to move freely relative to the secondary seat back frame.
BUSHING FOR OSCILLATING FREE PIVOT
A seat assembly for use in an automotive vehicle has a seat cushion including a seat bracket, a seat back including a side bracket, a bushing having an outer ring fixedly coupled to one of the seat bracket or the side bracket, and a free pivot pivotally coupling the seat bracket to the side bracket. The bushing has a passageway extending axially through the outer ring and a plurality of flexible fingers extending inward from the outer ring into the passageway. The free pivot includes a shaft the extending axially through the passageway in the bushing with the plurality of flexible fingers frictionally engaged with the shaft.
VEHICLE SEAT STRUCTURE
The vehicle seat structure has a seat back sub-frame linked to the seat back main frame by a plurality of wires so as to limit movement in the seat front-rear direction and to be movable in the roll direction. The wire includes a pair of upper-side support wires on the upper side in the seat up-down direction and on both sides in the seat width direction to connect the seat back main frame and the seat back sub-frame, inclined inward in the seat width direction from the seat rear side toward the seat front side; and a pair of lower-side support wires on the lower side in the seat up-down direction and on both sides in the seat width direction to connect the seat back main frame and the seat back sub-frame, inclined inward in the seat width direction from the seat rear side toward the seat front side.
