The cushion pad has a first slit provided between the center portion and each of the left and right side portions. The outer covering includes a center cover disposed to cover the center portion, and left and right side covers disposed to cover the left and right side portions, respectively. The outer covering has a second slit provided between the center cover and each of the left and right side covers. Left and right movement restriction plates are fixed to the left and right side covers, respectively. A cushion frame includes left and right engageable portions disposed, respectively, adjacent to the left and right movement restriction plates in positions laterally outward of the movement restriction plates.

An articulation mechanism for coupling a pivoting backrest to a traveling seat pan frame includes a first link having a first end section attachable to a pivoting backrest, and a second end section connected to the first end section, the second end section having multiple holes. A second link has a first end section and a second end section connected together, the first end section of the second link having at least one hole aligned with one of the multiple holes of the second section of the first link, the second end section of the second link is pivotally attachable to a seat pan frame. A fastener pivotally attaches the second link to the first link via the at least one hole of the second link and the selected aligned one of the multiple holes of the second end section of the first link based on a hole combination chosen to achieve a predetermined ratio of backrest recline to seat pan travel.

The third worm gear (16) is supported in the housing such that the third worm gear (16) is rotatable about an output rotation axis which is transverse to the input rotation axis.

A vehicle seating assembly includes a frame and an articulating flexmat assembly operably coupled with the frame. The articulating flexmat assembly includes an upper flexmat extending from a first side of the frame to a second side of the frame and a lower flexmat extending from the first side of the frame to the second side of the frame. The upper flexmat includes an upper static portion and an upper dynamic portion disposed above the upper static portion and adjustable by upper linear actuators that draw the upper dynamic portion toward the upper static portion to arc the upper flexmat outward. The lower flexmat includes a lower static portion adjacent to the upper static portion and a lower dynamic portion disposed below the lower static portion and adjustable by lower linear actuators that draw the lower dynamic portion toward the lower static portion to arc the lower flexmat outward.

The first thigh extension includes a first thigh flexmat operable between flexed and unflexed conditions.
