A motor vehicle having a motor vehicle seating arrangement mounted on a floor of the motor vehicle is disclosed in which a utility item in such as a central seat is supported by two spaced apart outer seats so that no floor engaging support is required for the central seat. Advantageously, the central seat is slidingly supported by the pair of outer seats so as to permit one of the outer seats to be slid forward to improve access to a row of seats mounted to the rear of the motor vehicle seating arrangement without moving the central seat or the other outer seat.

A multiple position convertible seat assembly for a boat includes three seat frames pivotally coupled to the boat and to each other to move from a first position as a seat, a second position as a lounge seat with leg support, and a third position forming another seat. In the third position, the seat includes a foldout cushion exposing a work surface.

A seating arrangement with improved seating comfort. In one embodiment, the seating arrangement is for a transportation vehicle. The arrangement includes seats at least having two levels adjacent to single-level seats. The multi-level seats include at least a bottom row of seats and a top row of seats. In one embodiment, the bottom row seats are on a floor; and there is an imaginary horizontal plane that is parallel to the floor, and that at least a part of the top row seats and at least a part of the bottom row seats intersect. The single-level seats include at least two rows, with at least one seat in each row being adjacent to the aisle, to allow passengers to access the single-level seats. In another embodiment, a seating arrangement includes only multi-level seats. In yet another embodiment, a computer-implemented method is applicable to the seats, such as allowing the display of a visual representation of a top-row seat and a bottom-row seat.

A vehicle seating assembly includes a lower leg support, a seat, and a seatback. A seat rotational member rotatably couples the lower leg support to the seat. A seatback rotational member rotatably couples the seat to the seatback.

A seat assembly forms a substantially horizontal plane for an exposed surface of each of a lower seat cushion and a seatback cushion of a seatback. The seat assembly comprises a lifter mechanism for a rearward edge of the lower seat cushion. The lifter mechanism further comprises a main lift arm coupled to the edge, a slotted support arm having a distal end thereof pivotally coupled to a distal end of the main lift arm, a linkage arm pivotably coupled with the main lift arm and a slot in the slotted support arm, and a translational arm coupled with the linkage arm.
