The seat base assembly includes a lower seat base assembly configured to be coupled to the floor base assembly, an upper seat base assembly pivotably coupled to the lower seat base assembly, and an actuator coupled to the lower seat base assembly and to the upper seat assembly. The the actuator includes a retracted position in which the seat is located in a seated position and an extended position in which the seat is located in a tilted position, wherein the tilted position of the seat provides additional space for the wheelchair within the interior of the vehicle.

Entry-and-exit assistance device for vehicle

A vehicle entry-and-exit assistance device easily moves a board between a housed position and a using position. Embodiments include a board at an outer side of a seat adjacent to a door opening, the board rotatable between a horizontal posture and an orthogonal posture; a board support portion rotatable between a seat side-position and a flipped-up position; and a linking mechanism. The board pivots around an axis orthogonal to the vehicle width direction, and the support portion pivots around an axis extending in the vehicle width direction. The linking mechanism rotates the board to a vehicle-width-direction inner side with respect to the support portion to take the orthogonal posture when the support portion is rotated to the flipped-up position, and rotates the board to a vehicle-width-direction outer side with respect to the support portion to take the horizontal posture when the support portion is rotated to the seat side-position.

WHEELCHAIR VEHICLE ENTRY SYSTEM

A system for lifting a wheelchair into and out of a vehicle is provided. The system includes a driver side and a passenger side wheelchair supports, a driver side and a passenger side extendable lift assemblies, and a control system. The driver side extendable lift assembly is arranged to move the driver side wheelchair support between a stowed position within the vehicle and a deployed position extended horizontally outside the vehicle and lowered towards the ground. The passenger side extendable lift assembly is arranged to move the passenger side wheelchair support between its stowed position and its deployed position. The control system is configured to independently operate the driver side extendable lift assembly and the passenger side extendable lift assembly to separately or simultaneously move the driver side wheelchair support and the passenger side wheelchair support between their respective stowed positions and their respective deployed positions.

Transfer seat with locking mechanism

A transfer seat base for a vehicle, including a rail frame having rails; a carriage frame positioned to ride along the rails and configured for receipt of a seat mounted thereto; a powered motive mechanism for, upon actuation, longitudinally moving the carriage frame along the rails between a forward driving position and a rearward occupant transfer position; a locking mechanism operable upon cessation of actuation of the motive mechanism to automatically lock the carriage frame against longitudinal movement at various positions between the forward driving position and rearward occupant transfer position.
