Vehicle seat

A vehicle seat includes a pair of left and right slide rails each having a lower rail extending in a front and rear direction of a vehicle and an upper rail slidably mounted to the lower rail. The lower rail is fixed to a floor F via brackets and so as to be spaced apart from the floor F. A reinforcing member extending in a left and right direction is disposed so as to span between rear end portions of the lower rails, and the reinforcing member is formed such that a bending strength about an axis in an up and down direction of a seat main body is lower than a bending strength about an axis in a front and rear direction of the seat main body.

LOWER GUIDE FRAME OF A VERTICAL SUSPENSION SYSTEM, SLIDING SEAT GUIDE OF A VEHICLE SEAT, VERTICAL SUSPENSION SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE SEAT, AND VEHICLE SEAT

A lower guide frame for a vertical suspension system of a vehicle seat having a left-hand slide and, parallel thereto, a right-hand slide which are connected to each other via a lower crosspiece. Attached to an upper side of at least one slide is a reinforcing profile which has a horizontal portion, via which it is connected to the upper side of one slide, and adjoining the horizontal portion is an oblique portion that is oriented obliquely downwards and outward. Adjoining the oblique portion is a vertical portion that, in the assembled state, extends to just above a vehicle floor.

System and method for a blast attenuating seat with lower-limb protection

A blast attenuating seat system for protecting a vehicle occupant from impulses generated by blasts from underneath the vehicle, and methods for manufacturing and using same. The blast attenuating seat system includes a post, a mounting body coupled to a portion of the post and a seat assembly movably coupled to the mounting body configured to move relative to the post and mounting body. The seat assembly includes a seat body having a seat support structure configured to support a plurality of seat cushions and a shock assembly coupling the seat body and mounting body and configured to compress and expand such that the seat assembly moves relative to the post and mounting body. The blast attenuating seat system thereby provides/enables improved protection for vehicle occupants that may be exposed to explosive blasts.

A control system and method for the seat suspension described herein utilizes a pneumatic cylinder which forms the shock absorber, an air compressor, solenoid valve and a microelectromechanical system (MEMS) based control. In operation, the pneumatic cylinder is filled with a compressible gas and sustained under pressure for the purpose of supporting the static weight of the occupant as well as providing comfort by reducing transmitted vibrations and high acceleration from external disturbances. A control process utilizes vibration data from the MEMS to adjust the gas cylinder pressure accordingly to reduce and damp the undulations of the supported mass.

Vehicle including a magnetic levitation (MAGLEV) seat system

A vehicle seat system includes a support surface having a first side and a second side that is opposite the first side. A first seat rail is coupled to the first side of the support surface. A second seat rail is coupled to the first side of the support surface spaced from the first seat rail. A seat member includes a first stanchion moveably supported at the first seat rail, a second stanchion moveably supported at the second seat rail, and a member arranged between the first stanchion and the second stanchion. A magnet is mounted at the second side of the support surface. A levitation controller is operatively connected to the magnet. The levitation controller is activated to drive the magnet to repel the member and raise the first stanchion and the second stanchion relative to corresponding ones of the first seat rail and the second seat rail.

Lifter mechanism and vehicle seat

A neck injury is improved with a structure having a lifting mechanism part only on one side. While a lifting driving part is provided on a side of one side frame, a coupling driving rod is coupled to a rotation center of a drive gear a driving link is disposed on a side of the other side frame, and the driving link is coupled to the coupling driving rod. A driving force in the lifting driving part operates on the side of one side frame having the drive gear, but on the side of the other side frame, the driving link rotates together with the drive gear via the coupling driving rod, so as to perform a lifting or lowering operation. The shape of a virtual square coupling contact points of the driving link, the side connectors, the coupling driving rod, and the drive gear does not collapse, and thus an external input is dispersed.
