A method for conditioning a load bearing surface includes positioning an oriented polymeric membrane in a mount and applying a force to the polymeric membrane so as to create a stress in the membrane. The stressed membrane is heated to a temperature no less than about a temperature that the load bearing surface is expected endure in use. The membrane is maintained at the temperature for a first period of time sufficient to heat the entirety of the membrane and the it is cooled while maintaining the stress on the membrane. Following a predetermined cool down period, the applied stress is removed for availability of the end use product. A seating surface for use in a vehicle that is subjected to an elevated temperature is also disclosed.

Upholstered part of a vehicle seat having a foam-encapsulated 3D shaped nonwoven for reinforcing a side member

The invention relates to an upholstered part of a vehicle seat (100), at least including a foam part (12-2) which, in a foaming process, forms a permanent connection to a prefabricated shaped nonwoven (12-1), wherein the prefabricated shaped nonwoven (12-1) forms a supporting structure for the foam part (12-2). It is provided that the prefabricated shaped nonwoven (12-1′) has at least one locally situated open cavity (12-11′) which at least in sections is filled with foam, so that the foam part (12-2′) has a foam-embedded supporting and reinforcing structure at least in one section (11B′) of the cavity (12-11′).

Seat with pad

The present disclosure relates to a seat that may have a support structure and a pad having a support wire attachable to the support structure. A retainer may be provided which is fixed at one end through an opening in the support structure and at the opposite end onto the support wire. The retainer may have a mounting member to fix through the opening and a hook to catch the support wire, the mounting member having a use position and a mounting position that is inclined relative to the use position. The plate-shaped support member is disposed between the pair of opposed frames and configured to receive a load from an occupant. The blower is attached to the support member, and part of the blower is disposed on a side of the first connecting frame that is opposite to an occupant side thereof.

VEHICLE SEAT BACKREST

A backrest of a vehicle seat comprises a backrest armature, at least one central upholstery module and two side upholstery modules each arranged on a respective side of the central upholstery module. Each of the at least three upholstery modules is fixed to the backrest armature independently of the other two upholstery modules.

VEHICLE SEAT BACKREST

A backrest of a vehicle seat includes an armature and an upholstery fixed to the armature. The upholstery has a slit for accommodating a headrest support rod by relative movement of the upholstery with respect to the armature in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle seat. The backrest further includes first and second trim elements. Each trim element forms a notch. The notches of the first and second trim elements define a passage for a headrest support rod. The second trim element partially covers the slit in the upholstery. The first and/or the second trim elements is/are in contact with the upholstery.

Connection structure for composite backrest and a method for making the same

A connection structure for a composite backrest and a method for making the same are provided. The connection structure includes two frames, a backrest body, and metal bushings. The metal bushings include a group of left metal bushings and a group of right metal bushings. The two frames are respectively fixed to the left side and the right side of the backrest body by the left metal bushings and the right metal bushings. The method includes: punching the backrest body and the frames; placing the frames into the backrest body; processing the metal bushings; sandblasting or sanding the external surface of the metal bushing; coating a configured structural adhesive on the metal bushing, and oppositely bonding the metal bushing; fixing the bonded metal bushing by a tool; and placing the fixed metal bushing, the composite backrest and the two frames into a drying oven for heating.

In order to cause no difficulty in an assembling process for assembling a resin plate to a seatback even if a plurality of bosses formed on the resin plate vary somewhat in dimension in a height direction, and also in order to prevent unpleasant noise, a vehicle seat is provided in which the resin plate of the seatback has a plurality of bosses formed thereon in positions facing the seatback frame, and under no load on the resin plate, some of the plurality of bosses are in contact with the seatback frame and the remaining ones of the plurality of bosses are out of contact with the seatback frame. On the other hand, while the resin frame is deformed by application of load in a direction of the seatback frame, the some bosses and the remaining bosses are in contact with the seatback frame to bear the load.

Vehicle seat

A vehicle seat (10) has a seat cushion (20) and a seat back (30), which are affixed to the body of a vehicle. The seat back (30) has: a first member (50) which is formed in a plate-like shape; and a second member (60) with a hat-shaped cross-section, which is configured so that a flange section (61) is in contact with one surface, in a thickness direction, of the first member (50). A center bead (52) is provided at the center portion of the first member (50). The center bead (52) is configured so that a longitudinal end of the center bead (52) and the second member (60) are overlapped in a plan view viewed in the thickness direction of the first member (50). As a result, the first member (50) of the seat back (30) is prevented from being deformed at the longitudinal end of the center bead (52).
