An example embodiment of a system and methods for detecting and reporting whether passengers are seated and secured in their seats within a vehicle may include a passenger sensor configured to provide an output indicative of a presence of a passenger in a seat in a vehicle, a restraint sensor configured to provide an output indicative of a status of a passenger safety restraint associated with the seat, a transmitter configured to be in electronic communication with the passenger sensor and the restraint sensor and to wirelessly transmit data indicative of the presence of a passenger in the seat and the status of the restrain, and a reporting module configured to be disposed proximate a driver of the vehicle. The reporting module may be configured to receive the data from the transmitter, and output a respective status for each of a plurality of seats.

VEHICLE SEAT

A vehicle seat includes a seat body and side brackets provided on the outer sides of the seat body. Each of the side brackets includes an upper bracket and a lower bracket. The upper bracket is fastened to an outer side surface of the seat body and is also fastened to the lower bracket. The lower bracket is fastened directly or indirectly to a vehicle floor. The lower bracket and the upper bracket are fastened at a front fastening portion and a rear fastening portion, which are located apart from each other in the front-back direction of the seat body. The front fastening portion and the rear fastening portion each include an adjuster configured to change a position of the upper bracket with respect to the lower bracket in an up-down direction or in up-down and front-back directions to fasten the front and rear fastening portions together.

Load-bearing seatbelt retractor and seat structure

The invention relates to a load-bearing seatbelt retractor for a seat structure of a vehicle seat, the seatbelt retractor having two housing halves between which functional modules of the seatbelt retractor are disposed. One functional module is a belt reel having a winding axis. The two housing halves form two mutually parallel receptacles in the seatbelt retractor, which are oriented perpendicular to the winding axis. Two seat bars can be inserted into the receptacles. The two housing halves are in contact at least on two contact lines above and below the functional modules with respect to an insertion direction of the receptacles. The lower contact line splits open on both sides along the winding axis such that respective intermediate spaces open toward the receptacles are formed.

SEATBACK

One aspect of the present disclosure provides a seatback including a back frame, a fixed portion, a first coupled portion, a second coupled portion, a first diagonal bead portion, and a second diagonal bead portion. The first diagonal bead portion (i) is raised from a surface of a back panel of the back frame in a thickness direction thereof and (ii) extends in a diagonal direction inclined relative to a seat width direction and a seat up-down direction. The second diagonal bead portion (i) is provided at a diagonal position relative to the first diagonal bead portion on the back panel, (ii) is raised from the surface of the back panel in the thickness direction thereof, and (iii) extends in the diagonal direction.
