Multilayer seat
A vehicle seat includes a lower seating structure and a raised seatback support, wherein one of either the lower seating structure or raised seatback support consists of a multilayer assembly. The multilayer assembly includes a flexible static layer, a flexible dynamic layer having an adjustable firmness, a suspension layer formed from tunable springs which support a flexible panel, and a frame supported carrier including a protective recess within which the suspension layer is cradled.
OCCUPANT DETECTION APPARATUS
An occupant detection apparatus includes: a sensor electrode; a conductor portion facing the sensor electrode; a moving object that moves by input of a seat load loaded on a seat and changes an electrostatic capacitance between the sensor electrode and the conductor portion; and a signal output unit that outputs a sensor signal based on the electrostatic capacitance.
SEAT MODULE
A seat module adapted to be attached to a seat having mechanical parts and electric devices for seat operation in a motor vehicle includes at least one operating cable for activating at least one device, and a module plate formed with a mounting feature for attaching to the seat and a retention feature for attaching the at least one operating cable. An end portion of the operating cable is temporarily stowed on the module plate in a pre-assembled state where the operating cable is attached to the module plate, and the end portion of the operating cable is connected to the electric devices and/or mechanical parts of the seat in an assembled state where the module plate with the retained operating cables is securely mounted to the seat.
Composite one-piece cushion nose
A motor vehicle seating assembly for a motor vehicle has a lower seat assembly and an upwardly extending seat back assembly is disclosed, where the lower seat assembly comprises a lower seat frame base having a pair of longitudinally extending mounting rails, a pair of side frame members operably connected with the mounting rails, and a transverse cross tube operatively connected with and extending between a forward portion of the pair of side frame members. A lower seat cushion and suspension module is attached to the lower seat frame base. The lower seat cushion and suspension module further comprises a one-piece composite pan having a forward edge, a suspension system mounted to and supported by the one-piece composite pan, and a one-piece composite nose having a rearward edge pivotally attached proximate the forward edge of the composite pan and a forward facing engagement member pivotally and operably connected with the transverse cross tube.
Tuned flexible support member and flexible suspension features for comfort carriers
A vehicle seat support carrier includes an upper seatback panel having a flexible body portion. A first set of flexible suspension members undulate in a first direction. A second set of flexible suspension members undulate in a second direction generally perpendicular to the first direction. A lower seatback panel is operably coupled to the upper seatback panel. The lower seatback panel includes a border member defining a central aperture and first and second bolster supports. A central portion of each of the first and second bolster supports includes a plurality of flexible suspension members.
Compliant edge frame bolster for suspension seating
A vehicle seat includes a support structure, a seat surface (14) and a molded polymeric frame (18). The frame has an edge region and the seat surface (14) is mounted to the frame (18) and the frame is mounted to the support structure. At least a portion of the edge region is flexible.
Headrest support structure
A headrest support having a hollow cylindrical shape and into which a headrest stay is inserted, is inserted into a bracket that has a hollow cylindrical shape and is fixed to a seat back frame. A protrusion, a tip end of which is a pivot center of the headrest support, formed such that a protrusion amount thereof increases in response to insertion of the headrest stay, is provided on an outer peripheral surface of this headrest support.
Vehicle seat
A vehicle seat includes a pad configured to support a body of a seated occupant. The pad has a transverse air passage extending in a direction along a back surface of the pad and a plurality of longitudinal air passages each having one end connecting with the transverse air passage and the other end open to a front surface of the pad. The transverse air passage has a first transverse air passage connecting an air introduction hole from a fan or an air discharge hole to the fan and the longitudinal air passage directly with each other, and a second transverse air passage connecting the air introduction hole or the air discharge hole and the longitudinal air passage with each other via a resistant body having a resistance against an air flow.
WEIGHT-RESPONSIVE VEHICLE SEAT OCCUPANCY CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM
A vehicle seat occupancy classification system having at least one weight-responsive sensor, including a supporting plate, a collecting plate, a hinge member mechanically connecting the supporting plate and the collecting plate, at least one elastic spring member, and a position sensor that is configured to determine a gap dimension between the supporting plate and the collecting plate. The occupancy seat classification system includes an evaluation unit that is configured to receive the output signal from the position sensor and to provide a seat occupant classification based on a level of the received output signal and at least a first pre-determined threshold value of the output signal.
Vehicle seat suspension mat
A suspension mat (14) for a vehicle seat comprises one or more suspension springs (16) for supporting a cushion (28), a support plate (18) attached to the one or more suspension springs, a mobile plate (34) coupled with the support plate, a flat spring (26) arranged between the support plate and the mobile plate and a switch element. The mobile plate is arranged movable between a first and a second position relative to the support plate. The flat spring biases the mobile plate toward the first position. The switch element is located between the support plate and the flat spring, in such a way that when the mobile plate moves against a bias of the flat spring toward the second position, the flat spring presses and actuates the switch element. The flat spring may e.g. comprise a washer spring, a plate spring, a dome-shaped flat spring and/or a cantilever flat spring.
