When the cover is closed, the latch mechanism may provide an unlatched state with the latch in an intermediate position (for an occupant's ordinary use) and a latched state with the latch fully extended to engage a catch in the base (upon the event providing the external force to prevent the cover opening). The component may comprise a console providing a storage compartment or an armrest.

The occupant protection apparatus further comprising an electronic control circuit configured to perform moving the pressure-receiving portion so that the occupant is pushed away from the side wall before the occupant comes into contact with the side airbag at an activation time when the side airbag device is activated by an impact acting on the side wall from an outside of the vehicle and the side airbag is inflated and deployed.

The carrier plate includes an extension member projecting inwardly toward the vehicle interior. A frangible connection seam is disposed at least partially around the interface between the extension member and the carrier plate. In response to a side impact load, the carrier plate moves inwardly, and the frangible connection seam at least partially severs. The carrier plate moves inwardly relative to the extension member, limiting intrusion of the extension member into the passenger compartment.

A control pod bracket assembly for an operator seat of a work machine adjusts a spacing distance between a right control pod and a left control pod. A right side bracket and a left side bracket having the control pods mounted thereon may be slidably coupled to a center bracket to move between inward and outward positions. Right side bracket and left side bracket locking mechanisms are selectively engageable to lock the side brackets at the inward or outward positions, and to unlock and allow the side brackets to move between the inward and outward positions. Adjustment of the side brackets allows the control pod spacing to be varied between a minimum control pod spacing distance and a maximum control pod spacing distance.
