Wobbly ball
09795838 · 2017-10-24 ·

The present invention relates to wobbly balls and exercise coil springs. A wobbly ball may include a non-spherical rigid, hollow ball body formed of two halves, each half comprising an upper ladle or a lower ladle which are welded together along a central seam therebetween, and defining a hollow cavity therein. A spherical inner ball is captured within the hollow cavity of the hollow ball body of the wobbly ball, so that upon movement of the wobbly ball, the inner ball rolls within the cavity, producing a wobbly, eccentric motion. The exercise coil spring may be formed of a single coiled wire, the coiled spring including a central portion where the coiled wire is coiled to a first diameter that is constant. Opposed flared ends are provided ends of the central portion where the coiled wire is progressively coiled from the first diameter to a second diameter, which is greater.

The exercising device preferably has a handle with a proximal end and a distal end and a swing arm having a first end and a second end. The proximal end of the handle is rotatably connected to the first end of the swing arm, allowing the swing arm to rotate around the proximal end of the handle in a “clock-hand” fashion. A connecting shaft and swing arm stopper prevent the swing arm and handle from becoming separated during use. The exercising device may further have a weight member positioned in a weight member recess located close to the second end of the swing arm. The weight member increases the difficulty of using the exercise device and is removably attached to the swing arm. A safety sleeve can fit over the weight member recess to prevent the weight member from dislodging during use.

Implementations described and claimed herein provide systems, apparatuses, and methods for providing cardiovascular exercise by simulating an exercise experience, such as a jump rope experience. In one implementation, a pair of exercise simulators is provided. Each of the exercise simulators includes a spin assembly rotationally mounted to a handle along an axis line. The spin assembly is configured to rotate about the axis line. At least one weight is housed in the spin assembly, and a light source is configured to rotate about the axis line with the spin assembly. The light source is configured to emit light to provide a visual representation of the motion of the spin assembly.

There is provided a health promotion system using a wireless and ropeless jump rope. When a plurality of users use a plurality of wireless and ropeless jump rope apparatuses, each wireless and ropeless jump rope apparatus transmits each user's weight, the number of jumps made by the user and the time of using the wireless and ropeless jump rope to an external health promotion server. The health promotion server analyzes the user's weight, the number of jumps made by the user and the time of using the wireless and ropeless jump rope as transmitted and provides an instructor with the information of the number of jumps made by the user and the analyzed health-relevant data. The instructor who receives the information of the number of jumps made by the user and the analyzed health-relevant data is able to improve the health of the user.

EXERCISE MONITOR AND METHOD THEREOF

An exercise monitor and method thereof having: a displacement sensor; a processing unit having a processor, clock, a memory storage device, and instructions for (1) computing a bounce rate using only displacement data and time data, (2) computing upper and lower displacement thresholds using only displacement data, and (3) for computing intensity using only bounce rate (beat frequency) and upper and. lower displacement thresholds. There is a display unit and a wireless connection to a handheld device on which computed information is displayed. Such automatically monitors workout intensity by receiving displacement data from a single displacement sensor and calculating upper and lower displacement thresholds to use to determine both heat frequency and intensity per beat via which intensity over a period may be displayed to a user.
