A multi-piece floor mat for a vehicle is provided. The floor mat includes a first section and a second section that are configured to assemble to one another to create a single floor mat assembly that spans across two or more floor regions of respective seating areas of the vehicle. The first section has a projection extending therefrom and entirely from a front edge to a rear edge thereof. The second section has a corresponding groove defined therein and extending entirely from a front edge to a rear edge thereof. The groove is configured to receive the projection to interlock the first and second floor mat sections. The projection may be provided with a stem and a bulbous head for additional securement.

An automobile floor mat is fashioned as a flexible mat having an upright portion and a base portion. A pair of straps are secured to the back side of the upright portion and capable of removable attachment to a foot pedal of the automobile. The surface of the base portion has a depressed region forming a small basin designed to capture water and soil from the automobile operator's shoes.

At least one endless elastomeric sealing member extends radially inwardly from a general sidewall surface of the through-hole. A grommet for the through-hole includes a bottom grommet and a cap. An outer sealing surface of the grommet compresses the elastomeric sealing member of the through-hole, thereby creating an impermeable barrier to water incident on an upper surface of the mat body. The mat body may have an endless ridge on its upper surface that is radially outwardly spaced from the through-hole and that is compressibly engaged by a lower surface of a cap retention flange.

In addition, the floor mat includes an integral heel blocker within the debris retaining wall that is adapted to protect the feet, heels and lower legs of an operator of a motor vehicle in the event of a frontal collision.

A carpet supporting member mounting structure for mounting a carpet supporting member to an instrument panel assembly to support a floor carpet including a portion to cover a tunnel portion of a floor panel of a vehicle includes a mounting portion of the instrument panel assembly and a carpet supporting member. The carpet supporting member includes a supporting member body disposed to project from an upper edge of a sidewall of the tunnel portion and a mounting protrusion protruding from a front edge of the supporting member body and including a base portion and a distal end portion. The base portion is inserted in a mounting hole of the mounting portion. The distal end portion extends from a distal end of the base portion toward a front of the vehicle and is pressed against a hole edge of the mounting hole in the width direction of the vehicle.

A holder for a replaceable mat used in a vehicle having a base and at least one flap with a free edge that secures the replaceable mat. The flap may be integral to the base and may also be flexible to improve the efficiency of loading the replaceable mat. In other embodiments the flap is independent from the base and operatively secured by an attachment device to the base. Other features improve the ease of use and protective capabilities of the holder. The holder also improves safety for use in vehicles and is inexpensive to manufacture. The replaceable mat is preferably absorbent and freely disposable.

A vehicle mat is configured to prevent hail damage to a body of a vehicle. The vehicle mat may include a vehicle mat body having a plurality of layers including a top layer and a bottom layer. The top layer may be formed of a hail resistant material. The bottom layer may be formed of a flexible magnetic substrate. The flexible magnetic substrate provides sufficient holding strength to magnetically couple the vehicle mat to a vehicle body and maintain the vehicle mat in place during a hail event to thereby assist in preventing hail damage to the vehicle.

A mat structure for a vehicle, in which an edging member capable of preventing impurities such as soil from falling down to an indoor floor of the vehicle is sewed on an upper surface of an edge of a mat, and a sewing device capable of easily sewing the edging member and a magic tape on the mat. The mat prevents impurities remaining on the upper mat from falling down to the indoor floor of the vehicle and contaminating inside the vehicle by using the protrusion portion, and passengers may scrape the impurities off bottoms of the passenger's shoes on the protrusion portion so that the impurities remain on the upper mat. Also, the protrusion portion protects a sewing line of the female magic tape against frictions with the bottoms of the shoes, and prevents the sewing line from being torn off.
