A method for implementing an operation of a body of a machine includes receiving data indicating an operation of a positioning mode actuator to facilitate movement of the body from a first position, determining activation state of a multi-auto mode to actuate a first auto lower mode to operate a hoist system to lower the body automatically and a first auto raise mode to operate the hoist system to raise the body automatically. The method includes determining the first auto lower mode is selected according to the data indicating the operation of the positioning mode actuator, and causing a hoist system to actively lower the body from the first position to a second position and passively lower the body from the second position to a third position, independent of the activation state of the multi-auto mode.

A control unit is provided for controlling a vehicle including a platform for carrying a load and an engine system for controlling an engine of the vehicle, wherein the control unit is configured to receive a signal, from at least one weight indication means of the vehicle, the signal being indicative of a weight of a load on the platform; compare the received indicated weight of the load on the platform with a predetermined threshold value. The control unit is further configured to provide an engine start-up signal to the engine system of the vehicle if the received indicated weight of the load on the platform is above the predetermined threshold value.

An overload protection control system and method are disclosed for an articulated dump truck having a load bin movable between loaded and unloaded positions by hydraulic cylinders of a hydraulic circuit. The overload protection control system includes a source of load data associated with the load bin. The overload protection system also includes at least one controller that receives and processes the load data to determine an overload condition associated with the load bin and determines a speed associated with the work vehicle. The speed is reduced in the overload condition.

A dump truck includes a plurality of rear wheels (15) rotatably attached to a frame (11) and two GPS receivers (101, 102) arranged to be dislocated from each other in an anteroposterior direction of a vehicle. The two GPS receivers are arranged so that a vertical line descends from a line segment PQ, connecting two points P, Q of which positions are calculated by the two GPS receivers, to the reference point D. This makes it possible to accurately estimate an attitude of mining machinery by two position estimation means without stopping operation of the machinery.

A method for implementing and canceling an automatic operation of a body of a machine includes receiving a selection of an automatic setting according to a first operation of a hoist mode actuator, determining an activation state of the automatic setting, causing an automatic operation of an engine of the machine to adjust an idle level of the engine and an automatic operation of a hoist system to move the body in a first direction to a first position. The method includes canceling the automatic operation of the engine and the automatic operation of the hoist system and controlling the idle level of the engine according to operations of a throttle, the hoist system to move the body according to the idle level of the engine and respective directions of the second operation the hoist mode actuator and subsequent operations of the hoist mode actuator.
