HATCHBACK DOOR FOR MOTOR VEHICLES

A hatchback door includes a load-bearing inner panel made of composite plastic material, a plastic top outer panel glued on a top portion of the inner panel, and a plastic bottom outer panel glued on a bottom portion of the inner panel. The top panel includes a first layer of transparent plastic material and a second layer of opaque plastic material or opaque paint. The opaque layer covers only some of the transparent layer such that the top panel is transparent in a central part overlying a rear-window opening of the inner panel and in its peripheral portions that function as transparent elements for two lateral sets of lights and a third top set of lights. The light sets are without a front transparent element and are connected to a rear side of the top panel. The transparent peripheral portions constitute the front transparent elements of the light sets.

Warning devices with Oscillating Light Patterns

An example warning device can include: a plurality of light sources forming an array; a plurality of reflectors, with at least one reflector being associated with each of the plurality of lights; at least one lens for each of the plurality of lights; and an optical prism plate that directs light from one or more of the plurality of lights to one of a plurality of far field light spots.

Light emitting system, a design element, a rear view device, a covering device, and a body component of a vehicle

A light emitting system includes at least one light pipe, at least one light source disposed at least partially within an interior of the system, at least one mask, and a lens substantially enclosing the interior of the system, the at least one light pipe, and the at least one light source, the lens having an inner surface, an outer surface disposed opposite the inner surface and at least one of a continuous transparent or translucent coating on the outer surface.

CONCEALED LIGHTING FOR VEHICLES

A vehicle illumination apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus comprises an emitting layer comprising a plurality of printed light sources and configured to conform to an outer surface of a panel. The apparatus further comprises a reflective layer disposed on an interior surface of the emitting layer and a surface layer configured to seal an outer surface of the apparatus. A controller is configured to selectively activate the light sources to reveal a symbol defined by the emitting layer.

ILLUMINATED VEHICLE BADGE

A vehicle badge is provided herein. The badge includes one or more light sources configured to illuminate in a pseudorandom sequence. Each respective light source illuminates in a first illumination sequence defined by a first set of parameters and a subsequent second illumination sequence defined by a second set of parameters. A controller is operably coupled with the light sources and has a counter therein. The counter determines the subsequent illumination sequence while the first illumination sequence occurs.

HIGH-TECH COVER

A high-tech pickup truck bed cover is disclosed. The cover provides a protective covering for a pickup truck's cargo bed and preferably includes safety lighting and a backup camera.

Daylight opening surround

The present invention relates to a daylight opening surround (3; 101) for a motor vehicle (1). The surround (3; 101) has a light transmitting element (15; 103) for transmitting light from a light source (19; 111). The present invention also relates to a light transmitting element (15; 103) for a surround (3; 101); a controller for a daylight opening surround (3; 101); and a motor vehicle (1).

A METHOD OF APPLYING A LIGHTING ARRANGEMENT TO A SURFACE AND A LIGHTING SURFACE

LED lighting elements are provided over a first conductive layer, each comprising a pad with top and bottom electrical contacts. A spray coating fills the spaces between the LED lighting elements. It also initially covers the LED lighting elements until a top portion of the sprayed material is removed to reveal the LED lighting element top contact. A second conductive layer is formed over the sprayed material and the revealed top contact, the second conductive layer being connected to a second electrical terminal.

ILLUMINATED EXTERIOR STRIP

A light strip for a vehicle panel is provided herein. The light strip includes a light-producing assembly. A photoluminescent structure is disposed on the light-producing assembly and is configured to luminesce in response to excitation by a light source of the light-producing assembly. An adhesive layer having one or more retroreflective beads embedded therein is disposed on the photoluminescent structure. An overmold material is disposed over a portion of the retroreflective beads.

LIGHTING DEVICE FOR VEHICLES

A lighting device for vehicles, in particular a signal light, with a light source for emitting a light beam and an optical unit associated with the light source for producing a predetermined light function, the optical unit having a holographic element and a lens arranged in the main emission direction in front of the holographic element, the holographic element comprising such a diffraction structure that the light beam emitted from the light source onto the holographic element is varied according to a predetermined illumination pattern such that the holographic light beam lights an illumination surface of the lens to generate the light function.
