20220055530 · 2022-02-24 ·

A lighting device for a motor vehicle including a processing module which is configured to receive and process signals of a data bus of the motor vehicle and send a data signal. The lighting device also includes an LED unit configured to emit light, when operational, with an adjustable brightness and a predefined color location. The LED unit has a microcontroller and a plurality of LEDs, and the microcontroller and the plurality of LEDs are surrounded by a housing of the LED unit. Furthermore, the processing module is configured to convert the data signal, which contains control information for the LED unit, into a pulse width-modulated signal of the current supplied to the individual LEDs and to verify whether the pulse width-modulated signal contains information corresponding to the control information for the LED unit.

Vehicle body structure

A vehicle body structure includes a first surface, a closure panel, an interactive display panel and a controller. The first surface has a first edge extending along an exterior portion of a vehicle and a second edge opposite the first edge extending along an interior portion of the vehicle. The first surface at least partially defines a door opening. The closure panel is movably coupled for movement between an open position exposing the first surface and a closed position covering the first surface such that a closure panel surface overlays the first surface. The interactive display panel is disposed along the first surface and is covered by the closure panel with the closure panel in the closed position and is exposed with the closure panel in the open position. The controller is in communication with the interactive display to display user inputted data on the interactive display panel.

Vehicle illumination assembly

A vehicle reflective assembly is provided herein. The reflective assembly includes a lens and a housing attached to the lens. The lens includes a reflective assembly portion. A base layer having reflective characteristics is disposed on the lens in the reflective assembly portion. A photoluminescent structure is disposed on the base layer and is configured to luminesce in response to receiving an excitation light emitted by a light source. A reflective layer is disposed on the photoluminescent structure and has one or more reflective beads configured to reflect a first portion of incident light directed towards the reflective assembly portion and allow a second portion of the incident light to pass therethrough. The second portion of the incident light includes the excitation light therein.

Motor vehicle ice sensor assembly and method of operation

A frozen accumulation detection assembly and method of operation for a motor vehicle is provided. The assembly includes a light source for emitting light on a surface of the motor vehicle, such as running board, and a sensor for measuring a reflectance level of the light off of the surface of the motor vehicle. The assembly further includes a heating element coupled to the surface of the motor vehicle. The reflectance level may be used as an indicator of frozen accumulation on the surface of the motor vehicle, and may help determine if the heating element should be energized.

VEHICLE AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

A vehicle and control method of the vehicle are provided. The vehicle includes a camera provided on the vehicle and configured to capture an image of an object outside the vehicle, a controller configured to determine a photographing position required for facial recognition from the captured image, a guide configured to guide the photographing position, and a display configured to display a result of the facial recognition.
