Illuminated vehicle sign
An illuminated vehicle sign comprises a receptacle having an internal cavity with a light reflective internal surface. A cover over an end of the receptacle comprises one or more orifices opening into the internal cavity from an outside of the receptacle. The orifices are dimensioned and/or relatively arranged in accordance with one or more markings or alphanumeric characters. The orifices provide for ingress of air into the internal cavity from the outside of the receptacle and for emission of light from the internal cavity. A vent in the receptacle is positioned relative to the orifices to provide for egress of the air from the internal cavity. A light source is disposed within the receptacle to emit the light through the internal cavity and out of the orifices. An apertured screen is disposed inside of the internal cavity that is spaced apart from the cover.
Digital license plate with active response to infrared license plate recognition
A digital license plate includes a display system capable of showing a license number readable by camera systems even under poor external lighting conditions. A light redistribution element is positioned near the display system and a lighting system is positioned to direct light from the light redistribution element and toward the display system. In some embodiments the lighting system includes a non-visible lighting element such as can be provided by an infrared source, and the display system includes an electrophoretic or LCD display.

Liftgate lighting system
A liftgate lighting system for a vehicle includes a liftgate assembly having a first liftgate panel and a second liftgate panel. Each of the first liftgate panel and the second liftgate panel is operable between an opened position and a closed position. The second liftgate panel has a proximal end and a distal end. A sensor proximate to the proximal end of the second liftgate panel. The sensor defines a sensor field. A lamp assembly is coupled to the second liftgate panel. A controller is communicatively coupled to the lamp assembly. The controller activates the lamp assembly and the lamp assembly directs light to a ground area proximate to the second liftgate panel when the lower liftgate panel is in the opened position.

DYNAMIC LICENSE PLATE FOR DISPLAYING/OUTPUTTING LICENSE PLATE INFORMATION/DATA
A system for outputting motor vehicle data is provided. The system includes: a dynamically variable display (100) on which a designated set of motor vehicle data (110, 120, 130) is selectively output; and a controller (200) operatively connected to the display (100), the controller (200) regulating the display (100) and designating the set of motor vehicle data (110, 120, 130) to be output on said display (100). Suitably, the display (100) is arranged to be secured facing a window (12) of a motor vehicle (10) such that the designated set of motor vehicle data (110, 120, 130) is output through the window (12).
