MULTIFUNCTION LIGHTING MODULE AND ITS USE
An integrated lighting insert is provided for multi-function automotive vehicle lighting that has minimal space requirements and provides different lighting functions in a single device with an electronic control module that can easily interface with vehicle electronics. The insert a housing and a plurality of light transmission portions, a plurality of light sources integrated into the housing, each one configured for a different predetermined function associated with a particular use of a condition of or a state of the automobile. An electrical circuit is used along with a communications bus and individual controller circuits associated with the light sources fix controlling the light functions.

An illumination module (1) for illuminating a region of a vehicle component (8), which includes a main body (9). The illumination module (1) includes a light source support (2) having at least one light source (3, 3) and a housing half shell (4), which is connectable to a wall region of the main body (9) of the vehicle component (8) such that a housing defined by the housing half shell (4) of the illumination module, on the one hand, and by the wall region of the main body (9) of the vehicle component (8), on the other hand, is formed. The light source support (2) has the at least one light source received in the housing, at least in regions, and the housing includes at least one light outlet region (5, 5), via which light emitted by the at least one light source can be decoupled from the housing.

The spacer is disposed inside a first area surrounded by the light guide and outside a second area in which the mounting portion is disposed, and composed of an elastic body elastically deformed by a compression force from the ceiling surface when the base is mounted on the ceiling surface through the mounting portion.

Lighting assemblies for interiors of vehicles, interior panels for interiors of vehicles, and vehicles are provided herein. In one example, the lighting assembly includes a backing structure having a first backing surface configured to face the interior when the lighting assembly is mounted in the vehicle. A bezel comprises a wall that extends from an outer edge portion to an inner edge portion. The inner edge portion is spaced apart from the first backing surface to define a gap and surrounds an opening that is configured to expose at least a portion of the first backing surface to the interior. A light source is disposed between the backing structure and the bezel and is covered by the wall. The light source is operative to produce light that passes from the light source through the gap onto the first backing surface and is reflected therefrom through the opening to the interior.

Lighting assemblies for interiors of vehicles, interior panels for interiors of vehicles, and vehicles are provided herein. In one example, the lighting assembly includes a backing structure having a first backing surface configured to face the interior when the lighting assembly is mounted in the vehicle. A bezel comprises a wall that extends from an outer edge portion to an inner edge portion. The inner edge portion is spaced apart from the first backing surface to define a gap and surrounds an opening that is configured to expose at least a portion of the first backing surface to the interior. A light source is disposed between the backing structure and the bezel and is covered by the wall. The light source is operative to produce light that passes from the light source through the gap onto the first backing surface and is reflected therefrom through the opening to the interior.
