A glass roof assembly for a vehicle includes a frame portion and a glass roof panel disposed at and at least partially circumscribed by the frame portion. When the glass roof assembly is installed at a vehicle, a forward region of the glass roof panel is at a headliner of the vehicle and above a windshield of the vehicle. The glass roof assembly includes a lighting device having at least one interior light source and a user input for actuating the light. The lighting device is attached as a unit at an in-cabin surface of the glass roof panel at the forward region of the glass roof panel. The lighting device is electrically connected to a power source of the vehicle via electrical connection at the headliner of the vehicle when the glass roof assembly is installed at the vehicle.

Lighting pipe integrated within sunroof trim ring

A trim component is provided. The trim component may include a trim panel, a backing layer, and at least one light pipe. The trim panel may have tapered side walls that extend from an inner portion of the panel and terminate at an edge to define a moonroof opening. The backing layer may wrap around the edge to define a trim ring. The trim panel may include integrated carriers that may project away from the panel and around the trim ring. The at least one light pipe may be disposed within the integrated carriers.

Integrated lighting

A lighting system for specialty lighting, which may be attached to a motor vehicle with a window (e.g., glass, plastic, etc.) that is light transmissive. The lighting system may include one or more light assemblies attached to the window in an interior of the vehicle or an exterior area of the vehicle. In one embodiment, a light assembly may be internal to the window.

Integrated lighting

A lighting system for specialty lighting, which may be attached to a motor vehicle with a window (e.g., glass, plastic, etc.) that is light transmissive. The lighting system may include one or more light assemblies attached to the window in an interior of the vehicle or an exterior area of the vehicle. In one embodiment, a light assembly may be internal to the window.

A trim component is provided. The trim component may include a trim panel, a backing layer, and at least one light pipe. The illuminated engine cover assembly comprises an attachment element attached to the engine and an illuminated engine cover composed of polymerized foam. The illuminated engine cover has a recessed area and a receptacle for releasable attachment to the engine attachment element. An illuminated feature is attached to the cover's recessed area. A contact element is fitted within the receptacle. A flexible printed circuit for providing contact between the illuminated feature and the contact element of the receptacle is embedded within the engine cover. A support lattice is optionally embedded within the cover. The support lattice has ends and an intermediate portion to which the illuminated feature is attached. Grommets are attached to each end of the support lattice. The releasable attachment receptacles are formed in the grommets.

The illumination apparatus aids location of items such as headphone sockets and power sockets in low lighting conditions so calming passengers.
