Steering wheel and damper unit thereof

A steering wheel includes a damper unit and an airbag cover configured to move, when a horn is activated, in a horn operation direction with respect to an airbag housing. The damper unit includes a damper made of insulating material coupled to the airbag housing, a switch assembly coupled to the airbag housing in an insulating state via the damper and coupled to the steering wheel to be continuously energized, and a spring. The spring is coupled to the airbag housing to be continuously energized and selectively electrically conducted with the switch assembly depending on whether the airbag cover is in contact with the switch assembly due to elastic deformation when the airbag cover moves in the horn operation direction.

A variable audio signaling device for a vehicle comprising: a controller adapted to be integrated into an existing horn circuitry without the need for additional switches and isolate a second horn from a first horn so that when a switch is actuated, the first horn is actuated; and, wherein the controller is adapted to receive the switch actuation, wait a predetermined period of time and actuate the second horn. The system can include a controller adapted to be integrated into an existing horn circuitry without the need for additional switches and isolate a first horn and a second horn; and, wherein the controller is adapted to receive the switch actuation, actuate the first horn, wait a predetermined period and actuate the second horn. The controller can be adapted to increase the volume of the first horn after a length of time.

Steering column assembly, casing tube for a steering column assembly, and vehicle having a steering column assembly

The invention discloses a steering column arrangement that has a steering spindle and a casing tube enclosing the steering spindle, which may be mounted to be rotatable about a longitudinal axis relative to the casing tube, and also has a switch module, which has a housing and a fastening sleeve provided on the housing. The fastening sleeve is designed such that the switch module with the fastening sleeve can be mounted on the casing tube and can be securely clamped to the casing tube. The casing tube on an outer circumferential surface has at least one radial projection, and the fastening sleeve on an inner circumferential surface has at least one extending guide groove when viewed in the longitudinal direction. The radial projection engages the guide groove when the switch module is mounted on the casing tube.

Steering wheel structure

This steering wheel structure has: a steering wheel main unit; a horn block; a support block; horn contacts; and a horn spring, wherein the support block has: a lock member; and an elastic body, wherein a load bypass member is provided that transmits an operation load in a push-in direction, which has been applied to the horn block, to the lock member while circumventing the elastic body, and wherein the load bypass member is configured so as to be in a non-contact state between itself and at least either of the horn block side and the lock member side when the horn block is in a vicinity of a default position, and so as to be brought into contact with the horn block side and the lock member side in a manner capable of transmitting a load when the horn block is pushed in by a predetermined amount or greater.

A steering wheel enabling support of an airbag module by distributing a load when the airbag activates to ensure prescribed deployment performance of the airbag without affecting the horn function. The steering wheel includes: a support unit that supports the airbag module enabling the airbag module to move along the Z-axis direction relative to the core metal; and a horn mechanism having a movable contact provided on the airbag module and a fixed contact provided on the pin of the support unit. When in a horn non-operating state, a stopper is separated by a distance D2 in the Z-axis direction relative to the airbag module and the distance D2 is farther than the distance D1 of the movable contact and the fixed contact in the Z-axis direction.

Horn adaptive electrical connection unit for quick-release steering wheel assembly
12179663 · 2024-12-31 · ·

A horn adaptive electrical connection unit for quick-release steering wheel assembly is provided. A horn adaptive electrical connection unit is composed of a horn contact pole, a contact pole holder, and a horn spring. The horn adaptive electrical connection unit is installed in the quick-release steering wheel assembly. The horn spring may provide support for the contact pole holder as well as the horn contact pole, thus, a floating electrical connection between the horn button and the automotive horn circuit and adapting to different thicknesses of horn buttons is created. The floating electrical connection setup simplifies operation by eliminating the need for using tools to wire or remove wires when installing or replacing the steering wheel. Compared to traditional horn electrical connection units, the present horn adaptive electrical connection unit is easier to use, more reliable, and much faster to be installed and detached.
