Devices and method for increasing running performance
11673015 · 2023-06-13 · ·

A running device and method of using the device are disclosed. The device may include a moveable material within an inner chamber of the running device's housing. In operation, a running device may be held in each hand and the runner may thrust both hands downward prior to landing and quickly bring the devices to a vertical stop after landing. Bringing the devices to a vertical stop may cause the moveable material to collide with the housing and increase the force exerted by the runner on the ground. A delay component may delay the peak force exerted by the material against the housing so that the translation of that force to the ground coincides with the peak force that the runner would have exerted against the ground in the absence of the devices.

Disclosed is an exercise device having a platform and a roller. The platform has a surface sized and shaped to support a body part of a user and a pair of handles. The roller is coupled to the platform and configured to rotate relative to the platform. The platform is configured to translate in a first direction when the roller rotates in a first direction of rotation and translate in a second direction when the roller rotates in a second direction of rotation.

Exercise device

A portable exercise device with a cylindrical and elongated main shaft and a plurality of central components that fit over the main shaft. Both ends of the main shaft are releasably attached handles. Each of the handles comprises a grip section that is cylindrical in shape and overlies a handle support. The grip section of each of the handles is releasably attached to the handle support, and the handle supports are releasably attached to the main shaft. Longitudinal axes of the main shaft and handles are collinear. Each of the handles comprises an attachment member that extends from a distal end of the handle and forms an arc. An inner circumference of the attachment member is circular except for a flat portion that is equal in width to the flat portion of the handle support. The handle attachment members are configured to releasably attach to the handle supports.

REHABILITATION EXERCISE SYSTEM

According to various embodiments, a system may be provided. The system may include: a platform including a plurality of engaging members; a portable device configured to engage with the platform using at least one engaging member of the plurality of engaging members; and a feedback member configured to provide information indicating whether the portable device is engaged with the platform.

The present invention relates to apparatus and methods for warning a user about undesirable motion of a first portion of the user's body relative to a second portion of the user's body. In one representative embodiment, an apparatus for warning a user about motion of a first portion of the user's body relative to a second portion of the user's body comprises at least one sensor configured to measure the angle of the first portion of the user's body relative to a reference. The sensor is configured to be worn on the user's body, and is in communication with a controller. A warning mechanism is also in communication with the controller, and the controller is operable to activate the warning mechanism upon movement of the first portion of the user's body relative to the second portion of the user's body beyond a predetermined angle relative to the reference.

Embodiments allow the application of a settable and/or a programmable resistance to a trainee's leg Drive Phase and/or Recovery Phase while walking or running over extended or infinite distances. Multiple mechanical or electrical feedback loops or combinations of both to monitor the applied resistance to the Trainee by the tether or tethers and then control the amount of breaking (drag) or propulsion created by the Mobile training module during the acceleration and constant speed training phases to accurately generate, control and transfer resistance through the elastic tethers to the Trainee. Embodiments apply multiple, non-varying loads or programmable loads to multiple body parts of a trainee where applied resistance can be manipulated to both increase or decrease over distance as desired by trainee while the trainee is walking, running or sprinting over any distance.
