11275550 · 2022-03-15 · ·

The present disclosure is directed to methods, devices, and systems for playing audio signals associated with an electric in vehicle. The method includes, for example, (1) determining a speed of the electric vehicle; (2) receiving, from a memory, a plurality of sound frequency characteristics corresponding to the determined speed of the electric vehicle; and (3) generating an audio signal segment corresponding to the received sound frequency characteristics by a speaker of the electric vehicle. The sound frequency characteristics include a plurality of segments. Each of the segments includes an amplitude of a number of frequency characteristics in a sound produced by a powertrain assembly (e.g., an electric motor) in a speed range.

Method for generating an audio signal, in particular for active control of the sound of the engine of a land vehicle, and corresponding apparatus

A method for generating an audio signal representing the dynamic state of a land vehicle as a function of the value of at least one first parameter comprises the steps of receiving an input audio signal and dividing the input audio signal into a set of audio frames of given duration; selecting, an audio frame representing the input audio signal; subdividing the selected audio frame into a set of audio sub-frames; determining a probability of transition between orderly pairs of the audio sub-frames and synthesizing the audio signal representing the dynamic state of a land vehicle by generating a sequence of audio sub-frames; computing a centre frequency of the selected audio frame and carrying out a frequency shift of the centre frequency as a function of the centre frequency of the selected audio frame and of the value of at least one first parameter that indicates the dynamic state of the vehicle, thereby generating a frequency-shifted subsequent audio sub-frame.

Pedestrian warning device having grille cover

The grille cover can protect internal component of the pedestrian warning device and will not affect the performance of the pedestrian warning device.

Method for operating a sound output device of a motor vehicle using a voice-analysis and control device
11302304 · 2022-04-12 · ·

The invention relates to a method for operating a sound output device of a motor vehicle. A voice-analysis and control device receives a voice signal from a voice detection device of the motor vehicle, wherein the received voice signal describes a voice message from a person who is in exterior surroundings of the motor vehicle. The voice signal is used to ascertain a voice message content of the voice message and a thematic context of the voice message. On the basis of that, a voice output signal is provided that describes a context-related response text for the captured voice message, and the provided voice output signal is transmitted to the sound output device to output the provided voice output signal to the exterior surroundings of the motor vehicle.

Acoustic notifications

Techniques for using beam-formed acoustic notifications for pedestrian notification are described. Computing device(s) can receive sensor data associated with an object in an environment of a vehicle. The computing device(s) can determine first data for emitting a first beam of acoustic energy via speaker(s) of an acoustic array associated with the vehicle, and second data for emitting a second beam of acoustic energy via speakers of the acoustic array. The computing device(s) can cause the speaker(s) to emit the first beam in a direction of the object at a first time and the second beam in the direction of the object at a second time. Directions of propagation of the first beam and the second beam are offset so that the object can localize the source the acoustic notification, thereby localizing the vehicle in the environment.
