A vehicle lamp includes a light source, a lighting control unit configured to control an emission timing of light emitted from the light source, and a rotary scanning unit configured to repeatedly perform scanning with the light emitted from the light source while rotating. The vehicle lamp illuminates a predetermined region with scan light. The rotary scanning unit performs plural repetitive scans in one rotation. The lighting control unit detects a rotation cycle of the rotary scanning unit, and controls the emission timing of the light source at a timing obtained by equally dividing the detected rotation cycle.

Adaptive headlamp system for vehicle

A vehicle headlamp system includes a vehicle supported power and control system including a data bus. A sensor module can be connected to the data bus to provide information related to environmental conditions or information relating to presence and position of other vehicles and pedestrians. A separate headlamp controller can be connected to the vehicle supported power and control system and the sensor module through the bus. The headlamp controller can include an image frame buffer that can refresh held images at greater than 30 Hz speed. An active LED pixel array can be connected to the headlamp controller to project light according to a pattern and intensity defined by the image held in the image frame buffer and a standby image buffer can be connected to the image frame buffer to hold a default image.

Vehicular lighting using passive and/or active optics

A reflector unit may behave as a retroreflector to reflect light of a selected color. The reflector unit may comprise a first reflector having a first color, a second reflector having a second color, and a mask that either allows incoming light to reach the first reflector and not the second reflector or allows incoming light to reach the second reflector and not the first reflector. An active light unit may emit light of a particular color in response to receiving light. In this fashion, the active light unit may simulate the operation of a reflector. The reflector unit and the active light unit may operate on a bi-directional vehicle.

A vehicle headlamp (1) includes a lamp fitting (10), and a control unit (CO) configured to, when a signal indicating detection of a preceding vehicle (80) is input, control the lamp fitting (10) such that a total luminous flux amount of light emitted to a first region (211) and a second region (212), and widths (W211 and W212) in the first region (211) and the second region (212) change according to a position of the preceding vehicle (80) with respect to a vehicle (100), in which the first region (211) overlaps a whole of a visual recognition unit of the preceding vehicle (80), and edges (212R and 212L) of the second region (212) on both sides in the left-right direction are located on a preceding vehicle (80) side with respect to edges (211R and 211L) of the first region (211) on both sides in the left-right direction.

METHOD FOR REPORTING DAZZLING CAUSED BY A HEADLIGHT SYSTEM OF AN ONCOMING VEHICLE AND FOR DETERMINING AN INCORRECT POSITION OF THE HEADLIGHT SYSTEM
20230078108 · 2023-03-16 ·

A method for reporting dazzling caused by a headlight system of a dazzling oncoming vehicle by means of a message produced by the dazzled vehicle that dazzling has been detected, wherein the message contains information relating to a position of the dazzled vehicle at the time of the detected dazzling. The method, also can proceed from the message, for determining an incorrect position of the headlight system of the dazzling vehicle by a comparison between a first intersection point between the trajectory of the oncoming dazzled vehicle and a light field produced by the headlight system of the dazzling vehicle, and a second intersection point between the trajectory of the oncoming dazzled vehicle and a model, stored in the vehicle system, of the light field generated by the headlight system of the dazzling vehicle.

LED Headlamp System with Brightness Control

A headlamp illumination source that switches from a first configuration conforming to on-road illumination standards to a second configuration that does not conform to on-road illumination standards. The switching is preferably controlled by a wireless signal but in some embodiments the switching can be controlled by a hard-wired signal or by a switch proximate the illumination source itself.

Driving assistance apparatus and driving assistance method for vehicle

In a driving assistance apparatus, an object detecting unit detects an object that is present in a periphery of an own vehicle based on an image captured by an imaging apparatus provided in the own vehicle. An avoidance control unit performs collision avoidance control for avoiding a collision between the detected object and the own vehicle when a collision between the object and the own vehicle is likely. A light distribution control unit switches irradiated light of an irradiation apparatus provided in the own vehicle between high beam and low beam based on a predetermined switching condition. The light distribution control unit performs switching suppression control to suppress switching of the irradiated light from high beam to low beam while the avoidance control unit is performing collision avoidance control in a case where the irradiated light is set to high beam.

A vehicle detecting device includes: a camera that includes an image sensor and a first filter, the image sensor including a plurality of imaging elements including a first imaging element group and a second imaging element group, the first filter keeping an amount of light entering the first imaging element group lower than an amount of light entering the second imaging element group; an image generating unit that generates a first image based on information obtained from the first imaging element group and a second image based on information obtained from the second imaging element group; and a detecting unit that detects a front vehicle based on the first image and the second image.

Headlamp control system

A headlamp control system includes: a headlamp that emits light toward a forward direction of a vehicle; a tilt detection part; and a control part. The headlamp includes: high beam emitting parts that respectively illuminate plural high beam areas arrayed in a left-right direction; and a low beam emitting part that illuminates a low beam area located at a lower position than the plural high beam areas. The control part, in a state where the low beam emitting part is on, when the tilt detection part detects that the vehicle has tilted such that one of left and right sides of the vehicle is lowered than the other one of the left and right sides, controls the high beam emitting parts so as to illuminate at least one of the plural high beam areas, the at least one being on the one of the left and right sides.
