20220153196 · 2022-05-19 ·

An exterior rearview mirror system for a vehicle includes an exterior mirror assembly having a skull-cap mirror shell that includes an inboard wall that faces generally toward an exterior side of the vehicle and that is viewable by a driver of the vehicle. A multi-stage blind spot indicator is disposed at an aperture established at the inboard wall of the skull-cap mirror shell. An illumination source of the blind spot indicator is activated to illuminate the multi-stage blind spot indicator responsive to an electronic blind spot monitoring system of the vehicle detecting another vehicle that is approaching or overtaking the equipped vehicle. Illumination of the multi-stage blind spot indicator by activation of the illumination source is readily viewable by the driver of the equipped vehicle and is generally not viewable by a driver of another vehicle traveling in front of or approaching from in front of the equipped vehicle.

Detection of bicyclists near ego vehicles

A method for alerting a driver when a cyclist is detected near an ego vehicle is described. The method includes detecting a presence of an object proximate the ego vehicle. The method also includes identifying the object as the cyclist according to geometric characteristics and/or speed data of the detected object. The method further includes displaying a graphical indication of the cyclist on a passenger side/driver side mirror of the ego vehicle while the cyclist is in a blind spot of the ego vehicle.

Detection, warning and preparative action for vehicle contact mitigation

The present application relates to a system for providing alert notifications of possible vehicle contact events including a vehicle controller for determining a first velocity of a host vehicle, a sensor for determining a second velocity of a proximate vehicle, a processor configured for predicting a time of intersection of the first velocity and the second velocity generating a control signal in response to the time of intersection being less than a first threshold time, and a controller configured for providing a vehicle contact warning and performing a contact preparation action in response to the control signal.

A vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a mounting structure, a mirror reflective element, a mirror back plate, a heater element, and a blind zone indication module. The heater element is disposed between the mirror back plate and the mirror reflective element. The blind zone indication module includes a diffuser and a housing that houses a circuit element and a light source. The circuit element includes electrically conductive terminals that are in electrical connection with circuitry of the circuit element and that are disposed at a connector portion of the housing that is configured to connect to a wire harness to electrically power circuitry of the circuit element when the vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly is mounted and used at a vehicle. The blind zone indication module is associated with a blind spot detection system of a vehicle at which the vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly is mounted and used.

Movable carrier auxiliary system

A movable carrier auxiliary system includes an environment detecting device, a state detecting device, and a control device. The environment detecting device includes at least one image capturing module and an operation module. The image capturing module captures an environment image in a traveling direction of the movable carrier. The operation module detects whether there is at least one of a target carrier and a lane marking in the environment image captured in the traveling direction for generating a detection signal. The state detecting device detects a moving state of the movable carrier and generating a state signal. The control device continuously receives the detection signal and the state signal, and controls the movable carrier to follow the target carrier or the lane marking according to the detection signal and the state signal upon receiving the detection signal that there is the target carrier or the lane marking in the environment image.

A Rear Mirror Assembly With Anti-Rotation Protection

A rear mirror assembly for a motorcycle includes a mirror mounting and a holding arm which is configured to connect the mirror mounting to the motorcycle. An adjustment device is arranged between the holding arm and the mirror mounting. The adjustment device is configured to be rotatable at least about one free rotational axis in order to adjust the position of the mirror mounting relative to the holding arm. The adjustment device includes a limiting device in order to limit the rotational adjustment.

Vehicular camera system

A vehicular camera system includes a camera module having an imager assembly, a main circuit board and a camera housing. The imager assembly includes (i) an imager disposed on an imager circuit board and (ii) a lens holder having a lens assembly that includes a lens barrel accommodating a lens. The imager assembly includes a flexible ribbon cable that electrically connects to an electrical connector at a multilayered PCB of the main circuit board. The camera housing includes an upper cover and a lower cover and includes a forward portion and a rearward portion. The main circuit board is accommodated within the forward and rearward portions, and the imager is disposed at the rearward portion and is not disposed at the forward portion of the camera housing. The lens holder is attached at the upper cover of the camera housing.

REAR-VIEW MIRROR WITH DISPLAY FUNCTION

A rear-view mirror with a display function includes a rear-view mirror body and a display structure layer. The display structure layer is disposed on one side of the rear-view mirror body and includes a plurality of light-emitting diodes and a driving circuit layer. The light-emitting diodes are located between the rear-view mirror body and the driving circuit layer. The light-emitting diodes are electrically connected to the driving circuit layer.

Vehicular camera with thermal compensating means

A vehicular camera includes a camera housing having a first portion and a second portion joined to the first portion. The first portion of the camera housing accommodates a lens and has an attaching portion having a first coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE). A circuit board includes circuitry disposed at a circuit board substrate that has a second CTE that is different from the first CTE. The circuitry includes an imager. The circuit board substrate is attached at the attaching portion of the first portion of the camera housing. When the vehicular camera is operated at an operating temperature greater than 50 degrees C., the attaching portion expands a greater degree than the circuit board substrate. When the vehicular camera is operated at an operating temperature below −20 degrees C., the attaching portion contracts a greater degree than the circuit board substrate.
