MULTIFUNCTIONAL REARWARD VIEWING CAMERA SYSTEM

A vehicular vision system includes a rear-viewing camera disposed at a vehicle and viewing at least rearward of the vehicle. Video images derived from frames of image data captured by a CMOS imaging array of the rear-viewing camera during a driving maneuver are displayed at a video display screen within the vehicle for viewing by a driver of the vehicle. An electro-optic rearview mirror assembly includes an electro-optic mirror reflective element. An electronic control unit (ECU) disposed at the vehicle includes a processor operable to process captured frames of image data. The ECU determines, via processing by the processor of frames of image data captured by the CMOS imaging array of the rear-viewing camera, glaring light emanating from a rearward approaching vehicle rearward of the vehicle. The ECU controls dimming of the electro-optic mirror reflective element based at least on part on the determined glaring light.

Integrated inside mirror assembly of vehicle

An integrated inside mirror assembly for a vehicle may have a stay fixed to a windshield glass of the vehicle and an inside mirror coupled to the stay, in which the stay may include a sub stay coupled to a rear surface of the inside mirror, a base attached to an upper end of the windshield glass and to which a rain sensor is mounted, a mount slidably assembled at an outside of the base and coupled to the sub stay through a ball joint, a stay cover coupled to the mount while surrounding the mount and attached to the upper end of the windshield glass, and an antenna cover assembled at one side of the mount and to which an antenna member is mounted.

Radio frequency identification enabled mirrors

A radio frequency identification (RFID) enabled mirror includes a mirror comprising a reflective layer. The reflective layer comprises at least one layer of a metallic material. At least one portion of the reflective layer is removed to form a booster antenna from a remaining portion of the reflective layer. A dielectric coating is applied to the mirror where the reflective layer was removed. The RFID-enabled mirror further includes an RFID chip coupled to the booster antenna.

Multi-band antenna

A multi-band antenna system is provided. The antenna system can be placed under and embedded within a glass exterior surface of a vehicle. Such an antenna system can include a capacitively coupled metallic element on or adjacent to the glass exterior surface, which can serve as both a parasitic element to enhance gain and as a heating element to melt snow and/or ice accumulation over the glass area that covers the antenna. In certain applications, the antenna's structure itself can be used as a heater to improve performance in adverse weather conditions while the heating elements are positioned away from the thermally sensitive electronics. The antenna system with integrated heating can include a spiral antenna.

AUXILIARY STRUCTURE FOR VEHICLE WINDSHIELD

An auxiliary structure of a vehicle windshield includes: a mirror support structure that supports a rear-view mirror; a plurality of electronic devices (a rain sensor and a communication antenna) aligned in a vehicle width direction; a plurality of wire harnesses (a sensor wire harness and an antenna wire harness) that extend from the electronic devices; an auxiliary cover that covers the mirror support structure and the electronic devices; and a harness cover that accommodates a plurality of wire harnesses. The auxiliary cover is formed in a shape that protrudes in a vehicle rear direction with substantially the same position in the vehicle width direction as the mirror support structure being a vertex, and includes a cover rear wall portion in which a lead-out hole for leading out the wire harness to the harness cover is provided in a vertex portion.
