Video display system for vehicle
A video display system for a vehicle includes a video display device disposed in the vehicle so as to be viewable by a driver of the vehicle. A camera is disposed at the vehicle and having an exterior field of view and operable to capture image data. A control includes a data processor. The control, responsive at least in part to processing by the data processor of captured image data, detects an object present exterior of the vehicle that is in the field of view of the camera, and determines if the detected object constitutes a hazardous condition. Responsive to determination of the hazardous condition, the control controls the video display device to automatically display an alert to the driver of the vehicle, with the alert including display of video images of the object that are derived from captured image data or a graphic overlay on displayed video images.
Vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly with blind spot indicator element
A vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror reflective element sub-assembly having a mirror reflective element, a mirror back plate and a heater pad disposed between the mirror reflective element and the mirror back plate. The heater pad is adhered via a pressure sensitive adhesive to the glass substrate of the mirror reflective element, and the mirror back plate is adhered via a pressure sensitive adhesive to the heater pad. The mirror back plate includes first structure that is configured to attach at an actuator. A blind spot indicator element is disposed second structure of the mirror back plate. When the vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly is attached at the vehicle and when a light source of the indicator element is activated, an icon present at an outboard region of said electrochromic mirror reflective element is illuminated and is viewable by the driver of the vehicle.
Adjusting vehicle mirrors
A mirror assembly can include a mirror and one or more actuators operatively positioned to cause the position and/or the orientation of the mirror to be adjusted. The one or more actuators include a bladder. The bladder can include a flexible casing. The bladder can define a fluid chamber. The fluid chamber can contain a dielectric fluid. The one or more actuators can include a first conductor and a second conductor operatively positioned on opposite portions of the bladder. The one or more actuators can be configured such that, when electrical energy is supplied to the first conductor and the second conductor, the first conductor and the second conductor can become oppositely charged. As a result, the first conductor and the second conductor are electrostatically attracted toward each other to cause at least a portion of the dielectric fluid to be displaced to an outer peripheral region of the fluid chamber.
VEHICLE MIRROR RECORDING SYSTEM
The presently disclosed subject matter is generally directed to an audio and/or video recording system configured within a vehicle rear-view and/or side-view mirror. Advantageously, the disclosed system is configured to record criminal incidents and/or provide evidence after a wreck or other driving event has occurred. The vehicle mirror includes a front face comprising a reflective surface that is operably attached to a rear body. The mirror interior houses at least one camera capable of recording an event, such as a vehicle break-in. The camera spans at least one surface of the rear-view mirror, such that the camera lens is present on the mirror exterior. Because the majority of camera and associated electronics are housed within the vehicle interior, the perpetrator is unaware that he is being recorded.
Interior rearview mirror system with battery powered toll transponder module
An interior rearview mirror system for a vehicle includes an interior rearview mirror assembly and a self-contained battery powered module releasably disposable at the mirror head of the mirror assembly. The self-contained battery powered module includes a toll transponder that communicates with an automated toll system. The mirror head has a receiving portion for receiving the self-contained battery powered module thereat. The receiving portion includes an opening established through a wall of the mirror casing. The self-contained battery powered module may be releasably retained at least partially in the receiving portion via a push-to-release mechanism. The self-contained battery powered module may be removable from the receiving portion via pushing at the self-contained battery powered module to release the self-contained battery powered module from the push-to-release mechanism.
Interior rearview mirror with GDO module
An interior rearview mirror assembly for a vehicle includes a mirror head, a mirror mounting structure configured to adjustably mount the mirror head at an interior portion of the vehicle, and a receiving portion for receiving a portable self-contained garage door opening module. The portable module includes a user input and a housing, and is operable to wirelessly transmit a radio frequency signal responsive to actuation of the user input of the portable module. With the portable module received at the receiving portion of the interior rearview mirror assembly, the user input is accessible by a driver of the vehicle. A retaining element is configured to attach to the mirror casing at the receiving portion to releasably secure the portable module at the receiving portion.
ELECTRIC SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE
An electric system of a vehicle including an electronically controlled braking system. The electric system has a steering angle sensor unit, at least one control module, at least one first inertia sensor and an electronic braking system central control unit EBS ECU. The at least one control module is external to the steering angle sensor unit. The at least one control module is also external to the EBS ECU. At least one of the at least one control module has mounted within it one of the at least one first inertia sensor.
SIDE MIRROR ASSEMBLY FOR A GROUND VEHICLE
The invention relates to a side minor assembly (1) for a ground vehicle, the side mirror assembly (1) comprising two mirrors (5, 6) distributed parallel to a main axis (Z12) of the side minor assembly (1), and both configured to be secured to the ground vehicle. The side mirror assembly (1) comprises a spacer actuator (20) for moving the two minors (5, 6) relative to each other, between a primary position, wherein the mirrors (5, 6) are at a first distance from each other along the main axis (Z12), and a secondary position, wherein the mirrors (5, 6) are at a second distance (Zd2) from each other along the main axis (Z12), the second distance (Zd2) being greater than the first distance. At least when the mirrors (5, 6) are in the secondary position, at least one empty see-through opening (22, 24) is provided along the main axis (Z12), between the minors (5, 6), so that a user may see beyond the side mirror assembly (1) through said at least one see-through opening (22, 24).
