Resistance device and method
Disclosed herein is a resistive device for insertion into a perineal orifice, such as anus or vagina, the device including: an operative portion for insertion into the perineal orifice, the operative portion including a plurality of bowed, resilient fins having proximal and distal ends, and a tip connected to the plurality of fins at the proximal ends for insertion into the perineal orifice. The resistive device also includes a base connected to the plurality of fins at the distal ends. A method of use is disclosed for inter alia exercising the Kegel muscles using the resistive device.
Exercise device
In general, an exercise device includes a handle having a first end and a second end. A curved member is coupled to the first end of the handle. A movable member is coupled to the curved member, with the movable member configured to travel along a length of the curved member, where the movable member has a first portion and a second portion, and the second portion is configured to move relative to the first portion. An elongate member has a first end and a second end, and the first end of the elongate member is coupled to the second portion of the movable member. A weight is coupled to the second end of the elongate member.
Oscillating positive expiratory pressure device
A respiratory treatment device comprising at least one chamber, a chamber inlet configured to receive exhaled air into the at least one chamber, at least one chamber outlet configured to permit exhaled air to exit the at least one chamber, and an exhalation flow path defined between the chamber inlet and the at least one chamber outlet. A restrictor member positioned in the exhalation flow path is moveable between a closed position, where a flow of exhaled air along the exhalation flow path is restricted, and an open position, where the flow of exhaled air along the exhalation flow path is less restricted. A vane in fluid communication with the exhalation flow path is operatively connected to the restrictor member and is configured to reciprocate between a first position and a second position in response to the flow of exhaled air along the exhalation flow path.
Postural awareness apparatus
A postural awareness apparatus includes a pad, a signal producing system, and an activator that activates the signal producing system when a compressive force applied to the apparatus exceed a predetermined compressive force. The activator includes a switch having an upper portion, a compressible element having defined therein an opening, the compressible element at least partially surrounding the upper portion of the switch, and a cap adapted to secure the compressible element in a position at least partially surrounding the upper portion of the switch.
Exercise device
An exercise device, such as a bicycle or spinning bike, includes a frame, a first set of crank arms connected to a rotary shaft supported by the frame and having an imaginary rotational axis stationary with respect to the frame. A second set of crank arms is mounted eccentrically with respect to the rotational axis of the rotary shaft. A second shaft is coupled to the second set of crank arms such that rotation of the second shaft generates vibrations of the crank arms in the second set of crank arms.
VIBRATION UNIT AND USE THEREOF IN A VIBRATION ERGOMETER FOR THE LOWER AND UPPER EXTREMITIES
The invention relates to a bicycle ergometer, composing at least one pedaling device for a user and a vibration unit, wherein: the vibration unit has at least ore main shaft (12), which is driven directly or indirectly by a motor (54) and has an eccentric disk (6) fastened thereto; the eccentric disk (6) is rotatably coupled to a connecting rod (1); and the connecting rod (1) transmits, by means of a rod eye (1a) disposed on opposite from the eccentric disk (6), the vibrations to the bearing (29) of the pedaling device such that the vibrations are applied substantially exclusively to this bearing (29) in the vertical direction.
Devices And Method For Increasing Running Performance
A running device and method of using the device are disclosed. The device may include a moveable material within an inner chamber of the running device's housing. In operation, a running device may be held in each hand and the runner may thrust both hands downward prior to landing and quickly bring the devices to a vertical stop after landing. Bringing the devices to a vertical stop may cause the moveable material to collide with the housing and increase the force exerted by the runner on the ground. A delay component may delay the peak force exerted by the material against the housing so that the translation of that force to the ground coincides with the peak force that the runner would have exerted against the ground in the absence of the devices.
PORTABLE ELLIPTICAL EXERCISE MACHINE, RESISTANCE BAND EXTENSION, AND TRANSPORT MECHANISM
An exercise apparatus having a pulley, a pair of stabilizing assemblies each configured to couple a front portion of a respective pedal element to each side of the pulley, a looped belt configured to couple the pulley to a resistance assembly, a tension stabilizer configured to maintain a tension of the looped belt on the pulley, and the resistance assembly configured to assert an adjustable resistance to the pedal elements through the looped belt. The exercise apparatus also comprises a resistance band extension for performing additional exercise using resistance bands and a transport mechanism for transporting the exercise apparatus and securing the exercise apparatus to a chair wheel or other structure during exercise.
Vibrator apparatus for use in physical treatment
A vibrator apparatus includes a moving coil, which is rigidly attached to a member, e.g. a frame or beam, of a vibration device. The moving coil is for an elected vibration mode of the apparatus configured to receiving electric signals, e.g. pulsating and/or sinusoidal electric signals, from a signal unit. The moving coil co-operates with a permanent magnet, which is suspended by springs attached to the member, and the coil and the magnet are mutually linearly and coaxially movable upon application of electric signals to the moving coil. An actual distance of movement being part of a distance between extreme positions and being less than the axial length of the moving coil. The springs are located at a distance from a respective axial end portion of the permanent magnet.
Zero G inertia exercise apparatus
An exerciser includes a frame, a movable platform disposed on the frame, the movable platform being movable between a first position and a second position, at least one weight disposable on the moveable platform in a first orientation so that the at least one weight slides between a third position and a fourth position, and a tether connected to the moveable platform to move the moveable platform from the first position to the second position. The at least one weight slides to the third position when the movable platform reaches the first position. The at least one weight slides to the fourth position when the moveable platform reaches the second position.
