Aftermarket head unit interface and protocol converter cartridge
An aftermarket vehicle head unit integration cartridge for use with an aftermarket head unit is provided. The aftermarket head unit preferably includes a dedicated slot for insertion of the cartridge. The cartridge preferably supports communication between a plurality of electronic components in the aftermarket head unit and a plurality of electronic components in the vehicle. The plurality of electronic components in the aftermarket head unit may include, for example, an audio processing system, a video processing system, an analog I/O and/or a digital I/O. and/or a plurality of electronic components. The plurality of electronic components in the vehicle may include an audio system, an analog I/O, a digital I/O/databus, and/or a steering wheel control unit. The cartridge may include a flashable memory for use in reconfiguring the cartridge. The cartridge may be configured to capture and condition the signals from at least one of the plurality of the vehicle-based electronic components. The conditioned signals from the vehicle-based electronic components may be conditioned for use by the aftermarket head unit.
MOBILE DEVICE HOLDING SYSTEM FOR A SEAT
A mobile device holding system for a vehicle is disclosed. The mobile device holding system includes a seat having a body, where the body of the seat defines an enclosure. The mobile device holding system further includes a mobile device holder moveable between a stowed position and a deployed position. The mobile device holder includes a holder base and a retractable arm. The holder base has one or more retaining members configured to secure a mobile device to the holder base. The holder base is stored within the enclosure of the seat when in the stowed position. The retractable arm defines a first end coupled to the seat and a second end coupled to the holder base. The retractable arm is configured to extend the holder base from the stowed position and into the deployed position to move the holder base out of the enclosure.
PORTABLE TAPE STORAGE ON A MOBILE PLATFORM
A system may include one or more tape drives. A front portion of the one or more tape drives may be exposed to allow access to one or more respective tape cartridges of each of the one or more tape drives. The system may include one or more servers. The one or more servers may control the one or more tape drives. The system may include one or more ports communicatively connected to the one or more tape drives. Each of the one or more ports may respectively be associated with a specific sensor. Each of the specific sensors may record a specific datum. The system my include one or more power supplies.
UNITARY HOUSING FOR ELECTRONIC DEVICE
An electronic device having a unitary housing is disclosed. The device can include a first housing component having an open cavity, an internal electronic part disposed within the cavity, a second housing component disposed across the cavity, and a support feature disposed within the cavity and arranged to support the second housing component. The first housing component can be formed from metal, while the second housing component can be formed from a plurality of laminated foil metal layers. The second housing component can be attached to the first housing component via one or more ultrasonic welds, such that a fully enclosed housing is created. The fully enclosed housing can be hermetically sealed, and the outside surfaces thereof can be machined or otherwise finished after the ultrasonic welding.

Clamping apparatus
A clamping apparatus includes a housing, two clamping arms, at least one manual actuator and a push member. The housing has a receiving area provided with a recessed region. The two clamping arms are assembled with the housing at two sides thereof, and are movably linked to each other via a main pinion disposed inside the housing. The push member is disposed in the recessed region and protrudes partially from the receiving area. When the push member is pressed toward an interior of the recessed region, the initial locking state is released so that the two clamping arms can move for clamping a mobile device. The manual actuator is assembled with the housing at a side thereof, and extends partially into the housing to mesh with the main pinion. A user can operate the manual actuator to concurrently drive the two clamping arms to open via the main pinion.
MOUNT APPARATUS FOR SECURING AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE TO A SURFACE
Various embodiments of a mount apparatus are disclosed herein for securing an electronic device (such as a radar/laser detector, GPS device, and/or dash camera or other electronic device used within a vehicle) to a surface such as an interior surface (e.g., windshield, dashboard) of a vehicle. In one example, the mount apparatus includes a magnet which is adapted to be coupled with a corresponding metal surface within the electronic device, so that the magnet positioned within the apparatus provides a magnetic force to aid a user in securing the mount apparatus and the electronic device to each other.
