Trim Assembly
A trim assembly for deploying an airbag element, a vehicle including such a trim assembly and a method for manufacturing such a trim assembly. The trim unit includes a vehicle body portion, a trim unit and at least one fixing element. The fixing element is configured to attach the trim unit to the vehicle body portion. The airbag element is arranged between the trim unit and the vehicle body portion. The trim unit is configured to cover at least partially the airbag element. The trim unit is pivotable about the fixing element such that the trim unit is tilted away from the vehicle body portion during a deployment of the airbag element.
Box nut retainer
A first example box nut retainer includes a support, a fastener sleeve, and a resilient arm. The fastener sleeve defines an opening and extends downwardly from the support. The resilient arm extends upwardly and outwardly relative to the fastener sleeve toward the support.
SERVICEABLE ROTATING MAGNETIC PIN
A magnetic pin system includes a magnetic pin having a polymeric body including: a seating portion; a cylindrical-shaped insert portion integrally fixed to the seating portion; and a first locking wing and a second locking wing oppositely positioned about the insert portion with respect to the first locking wing and integrally connected to the insert portion. A metallic insert is fixed to the seating portion. The metallic insert is susceptible to a magnetic field applied to the metallic insert acting to co-rotate the metallic insert and the polymeric body to install and to remove the polymeric body from a fixed position. A magnetic coupler is positioned over the metallic insert and magnetically coupled to the metallic insert. The magnetic coupler is rotated to induce a 90-degree rotation of the magnetic coupler and thereby the metallic insert to lock the magnetic pin in the fixed position.
Sash cover assembly for a vehicle
A sash cover assembly for a vehicle includes a sash cover and a spacer cap. The sash cover includes a projection configured to be received by a sash of the vehicle. The spacer cap is connected to and surrounds the projection. The spacer cap is configured to prevent contact between the projection and the sash when the sash cover is connected to the sash.
Fastener
A fastener for coupling a first component to a mounting hole of a second component. The fastener includes a central body portion, a head portion, provided at the proximal end of the central body portion. The fastener has at least two resilient ribs, protruding radially outward from an outer surface of the central body portion. The fastener includes at least a first pair of diametrically opposed recessed surfaces, provided at the proximal end of the central body and extending axially between the head portion and a respective shoulder portion formed by each one of the first pair of recessed surfaces. The at least two resilient ribs extend along the outer surface of the central body portion in a direction along the central axis between the distal end and the proximal end, and axially past the respective shoulder portion.
FASTENING ARRANGEMENT, MOTOR VEHICLE
A fastening arrangement for fastening a roof liner to a body roof, which has a frame opening, of a motor vehicle, with at least one fastening strip which is formed on the roof liner and extends parallel to a longitudinal or transverse side of the frame opening, with at least one elastically deformable clamping device, which is designed to lock the roof liner to the body roof in a form-fitting manner with a latching connector. It is provided that the clamping device has the latching connector, which is floatingly mounted on the roof liner, and that the latching connector, guided through an opening of the body roof, engages behind the body roof in a form-fitting manner.
CONNECTOR
A connector having a head that holds a first component and a body connected to the head. The body has a central channel extending along a central axis of the connector, and the central channel receives a fastener. The body has at least two resilient legs. The resilient legs extend obliquely toward the central axis in a direction from the body to the head. The at least two resilient legs engage with the fastener, to attach the connector to the fastener.
FASTENER
A fastener includes a mounting base and an insert portion. The mounting base includes an accommodating cavity having an accommodating cavity opening and a mounting slot located above the accommodating cavity, having a width that is smaller than a width of the accommodating cavity; The insert portion includes a retaining portion, a neck portion connected to the retaining portion, and a head portion disposed between the retaining portion and the head portion. The head portion is configured to be received within the accommodating cavity by the accommodating cavity opening. The neck portion is configured such that at least a portion of the neck portion is received by the mounting slot when the head portion is received by the accommodating cavity.
Installation apparatus for mounting a garnish onto a vehicle structure and methods of making and using the same
An installation apparatus for mounting a garnish on a vehicle can include a jig, a tool and a controller. The jig can be placed on a predetermined portion of the flange and in a predetermined orientation relative to the flange. The jig can orient the tool in a predetermined orientation relative to the garnish when the jig is placed on the vehicle and the garnish is positioned adjacent to the vehicle. The controller can be configured to indicate an install complete condition based on force data and tool proximity data, where the force data is indicative of a force applied by the tool onto the garnish while the tool installs the garnish onto the first portion, and the tool proximity data is indicative of a proximity of the tool relative to a portion of the vehicle after the tool mounts the garnish onto the vehicle.
