CARPET WITH AN ELECTROLUMINESCENT LAYER
A carpet for a vehicle comprising at least one backing layer and a pile having a front and rear side, wherein the pile comprises yarns and/or filaments and/or staple fibers, characterised in that the carpet further comprises at least one area comprising a flexible multilayer comprising, a transparent conductive layer facing the pile, a dielectric layer, a light emitting layer comprising electroluminescent material situated directly in between the transparent conductive layer and the dielectric layer, a second conductive layer adjacent to the dielectric layer facing away from the pile and wherein the second conductive layer is not in contact with the transparent conductive layer, and wherein the flexible multilayer is connectable to means for conducting alternating electrical current (AC) such that the light emitting layer comprising electroluminescent material emits light at least through the pile in response to the alternating electrical field (AC), and wherein the at least one backing layer is a transparent or translucent impervious thermoplastic flexible layer situated between the front side of the pile and the flexible multilayer wherein at least some of the yarns and/or filaments and/or staple fibers contact the transparent or translucent impervious thermoplastic flexible layer preferably being partly embedded in the transparent or translucent impervious thermoplastic flexible layer.
SKIN MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SKIN MATERIAL
A skin material containing, in the following order: a base fabric that is configured to contain fibers having a synthetic resin coating layer, wherein fibers adjacent to each other in the base fabric are at least partially fused with each other; and an adhesive layer and a skin layer, which are provided at a surface of at least one side of the base fabric in this order from the base fabric, the skin material having a plurality of ventilation holes passing through the skin material in a thickness direction.
Method for stitching vehicle interior components and components formed from the method
A method of applying stitching to an interior component is provided herein. The interior component having only a single layer of a substrate layer. The method including the steps of: a) penetrating substrate layer with an awl to form a piercing therethrough; b) retracting the awl from the substrate layer; c) inserting a needle of a sewing head through the piercing through the substrate layer to grasp a thread positioned on a show surface of the outer skin layer; d) pulling the thread through the substrate layer; e) looping the thread with a previous stitch passed through the substrate layer; f) advancing the sewing head to another position with respect to the interior component, wherein a backside of the substrate layer is free of obstructions; and g) repeating steps a-f until a predetermined amount of stitches are applied to the interior component.
Decorated molded article
A decorated molded article includes a corner portion in the form of an entirely rounded corner portion. The rounded corner portion has a distal end face at a distal end thereof. The distal end face has a width determined by an outer curved line and an inner curved line. The inner curved line has a central portion curved to approach the outer curved line. The width of the distal end face of the rounded corner portion is smaller than a width of a distal end face formed at a distal end of the first wall extending from the substrate body.

A trim assembly having a trim element and an air vent designed to be supplied with air. The trim element includes a first face designed to be oriented toward a user, a second face opposite the first face, and an edge extending between the first face and the second face. The air vent is positioned to generate a jet of air flowing along the second face toward the edge.
APPARATUS FOR STITCHING VEHICLE INTERIOR COMPONENTS
An apparatus for stitching an interior component is disclosed herein. The component having an outer skin layer and the apparatus is a single needle chain stitch machine with a rotary looper and wherein a needle of the apparatus descends through the interior component and a hook of the rotary looper engages a thread loop formed during retraction of the needle after it has descended through the interior component; and wherein the apparatus further includes a mechanism for moving the interior component relative to the needle and looper to establish a stitch length.
Trim element comprising two independent backlit areas
A trim element having a coating layer defining an outer surface and an inner surface, the coating layer including at least two distinct backlit pattern areas separated by at least one opaque area preventing the passage of light from the inner surface to the outer surface. The trim element includes at least one light source for each backlit pattern area, the light source being fixed on the inner surface of the coating layer facing an opaque area while being spaced apart from the corresponding backlit pattern area. The trim element has one light guide per backlit pattern area.
VEHICLE CONTROL DEVICE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD
A control device for a vehicle includes a transparent support, an opaque decorative layer, a detection layer, and a light source adapted for emitting a light passing through the transparent support. The opaque decorative layer is printed on the transparent support in a control area, and delimits a pattern forming a pictogram where the decorative layer is missing, with the pictogram having an outer edge. The detection layer is electrically conductive and printed on the transparent support around the pictogram, substantially up to the outer edge of the pictogram, in the control area.
COMPOSITE SKIN MATERIAL FOR VEHICLE
A composite skin material for a vehicle includes a fibrous substrate, a polyurethane resin layer provided on the front side of the fibrous substrate, and a woven fabric adhered to the back side of the fibrous substrate through an adhesive layer comprising a polyurethane resin. Openings penetrating the fibrous substrate from the front of the polyurethane resin layer are provided in the composite skin material, and an opening ratio on the front of the polyurethane resin layer is 1 to 15%. The woven fabric has a warp density of 25 to 50 yarns/25.4 mm and a weft density of 30 to 50 yarns/25.4 mm, and the mass per unit area of the adhesive layer is 15 to 100 g/m.sup.2. The composite skin material has air permeability of 5 to 100 cm.sup.3/cm.sup.2.Math.s, tear strength of 20 to 150N, and tensile strength of 50 N/cm or more.
Method for stitching vehicle interior components and components formed from the method

The method including the steps of: a) penetrating the interior component to form a piercing therethrough; b) retracting the awl from the interior component; c) inserting a needle of a robotic sewing head through the piercing to grasp a thread; d) pulling the thread through the interior component; e) looping the thread with a previous stitch passed through the component; f) advancing the robotic sewing head to another position with respect to the interior component, wherein a backside of the substrate layer is free of obstructions; and g) repeating steps a-f until a predetermined amount of stitches are applied to the interior component.
