A trim component for a vehicle interior is disclosed. The trim component comprises a fiber panel, a structure and a cover coupled to the fiber panel and/or the structure. The fiber panel may comprise fibers and a resin binder. The structure may comprise resin such as a molded plastic. The structure may provide a border formed on a periphery and/or an edge of the fiber panel. The structure may be on the cover or the fiber panel. The structure may reinforce a gap and/or tear in the fiber panel. The structure may comprise a molded feature. The feature may comprise the border, a rib, or a connector. The cover may be coupled to an outer surface of the fiber panel and/or the structure. The trim component may be a trim panel, an instrument panel, a door panel, or other interior trim part.

A vehicular interior trim includes: an interior trim member provided with an engagement hole; and an elastic member attached to a surface of the interior trim member and including a protrusion provided on a back surface and to be inserted in the engagement hole. The protrusion includes an engagement piece to be engaged with an external edge of the engagement hole, and the interior trim member includes a recess that surrounds an internal edge of the engagement hole.

A vehicle console includes a housing having an interior volume. A console bin is disposed within the interior volume. The console bin is an injection molded member having a base and a plurality of bin walls coupled to the base at living hinges, wherein the plurality of bin walls form an interior surface that extends orthogonally from the base.

A vehicle upholstery member includes a base member provided with a surface layer having a three-dimensional shape. An outer surface of the surface layer is formed of planar surface elements arranged without gaps therebetween, each planar surface element having a polygonal planar shape with a predetermined size.

The console bin is an injection molded member having a base and a plurality of bin walls coupled to the base at living hinges, wherein the plurality of bin walls form an interior surface that extends orthogonally from the base.

A panel for a vehicle interior including a cover layer and a mask layer, wherein the cover layer has a frontside and a backside, and the mask layer is disposed at the backside of the cover layer. The cover layer includes a semi-transparent layer. The cover layer has a light transmittance of at most 90 percent in a direction perpendicular to the frontside, wherein the mask layer comprises a transparent display region and an opaque region, wherein the opaque region is located adjacent to the display region.

An attachment structure for a decorative vehicle component includes a base having a recess therein, a skin covering the base, and an ornament coupled to the base over a portion of the skin. The ornament includes a boss structured to engage with the recess so as to be inserted within the recess. A fastener couples the boss to the recess. An upper surface of the ornament is substantially flush with an upper surface of the skin. The recess and the boss are configured to locate the ornament relative to the base.

A vehicle interior panel includes an elastically compressible layer between a substrate and a decorative skin layer. The compressible layer has a non-uniform thickness along which voids are formed within the thickness of the panel. A center console can be equipped with the panel in the form of a tambour door that opens to access a storage space in the console and closes to serve as a cushioned armrest. The compressible layer can be formed from a foam material molded directly onto the decorative layer and shaped as a series of projections that are attached to flexibly interconnected crossmembers of the substrate. Thin portions of the compressible layer between the projections facilitate reversible bending of the panel during movement along curved guides.
