Composite module

A composite module for a vehicle may be both a structural member and include a finished surface. In at least some embodiments, a composite rear shelf module includes a panel with a reinforced multilayer, multi-laminate fiber reinforced plastic composite structure. The panel may include selectively orientated, continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite layers and/or the panel may include discontinuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic reinforcements. The composite rear shelf module may include a show surface film with a class-A surface, eliminating the need for a separate layer of carpet or other material. In some embodiments the module has vehicle attachment members for securing the module to the vehicle body, and the stiffness and mass of the module and the arrangement of the vehicle attachment members and reinforcements are tuned to move the natural modes, or natural frequencies, of the panel outside the working frequency range of any speakers or subwoofers.

A vehicle rear structure has an upper back panel, and a first closed sectional part that is coupled to a front end part of the upper back panel in a vehicle forward-rearward direction and serves as a closed sectional part having a closed section structure. The first closed sectional part is constituted of a first panel and a second panel that are panel members different from the upper back panel. The thickness of the first panel and the thickness of the second panel are larger than the thickness of the upper back panel, respectively.

INTERIOR TRIM ELEMENT FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE

An interior trim element for a motor vehicle, comprising a main part, more particularly a trough-shaped main part, that defines an interior space, and comprising at least one clip element, wherein the at least one clip element is pivotally hinged to the main part (2) via at least one film hinge, wherein the film hinge is formed on a shoulder created on an edge portion (4a) of the main part that partially delimits the interior space, the shoulder being offset with respect to the free end of the edge portion.

LUGGAGE SIDE TRIM AND MOUNTING STRUCTURE OF MOUNTING THE LUGGAGE SIDE TRIM

A luggage side trim includes a body portion having an upper edge portion extending in a vehicular front-rear direction, a wall portion extending in a vehicular width direction from a part of the upper edge portion, the wall portion having an insertion hole through which a damper is to be inserted, and a slit that is communicated with the insertion hole and extends upward and toward a vehicular exterior side from the insertion hole and has a damper insertion opening being open toward the vehicular exterior side, the damper insertion opening receiving the damper that is to be guided along the slit toward the insertion hole when the luggage side trim is mounted on the vehicular panel. When the luggage side trim is mounted on the vehicular panel, an upper edge of the upper edge portion is above the damper.

Interior trim element for a motor vehicle

An interior trim element (1) for a motor vehicle, comprising a main part (2), more particularly a trough-shaped main part, that defines an interior space (5), and comprising at least one clip element (7a, 7b), wherein the at least one clip element (7a, 7b) is pivotally hinged to the main part (2) via at least one film hinge (8a, 8b), wherein the film hinge (8a, 8b) is formed on a shoulder (11) created on an edge portion (4a) of the main part (2) that partially delimits the interior space (5), the shoulder (11) being offset with respect to the free end of the edge portion (4a).

OVERLAID COMPOSITE INTERIOR COMPONENT

A laminated composite interior component including: a first member that has a predetermined mating surface; and a second member made of an elastically deformable resin material and having a plate portion that is generally parallel to the mating surface, the plate portion being integrally provided with a large number of projections that project toward the mating surface such that a space is formed between the mating surface and the plate portion, the second member being disposed so as to be placed on the first member with the projections contacting the mating surface, in which the large number of projections have the same shape as each other, and are configured such that a flexural rigidity of each of the projections against a compressive load is anisotropic around an axis so that the projections are each to be deflected in one direction around the axis, the large number of projections are disposed on line segments that define a shape of a large number of arrangement units in accordance with an arrangement pattern in which the arrangement units are provided regularly, and distal ends of the projections are pressed against the mating surface so that the projections are elastically deformed to impart cushioning properties, the arrangement pattern being determined such that the large number of arrangement units are provided away from each other and proximate line segments of adjacent arrangement units are parallel to each other, and two projections each provided on the proximate line segments being disposed in such an attitude that deflection directions, which correspond to the one direction, of the two projections are parallel to each other and at positions at which a clearance is provided between the two projections when the two projections are deflected.
