DOOR TRIM
A door trim installed in a vehicle includes an upper board and a lower board. The upper board includes a mounting boss. The lower board includes a body and a mounting flange. The body defines a lower portion of the door trim. The mounting flange extends upward from an upper edge of the body and includes a mounting hole. The mounting flange is disposed behind a back face of the upper board. The mounting boss protrudes from the back face of the upper board toward the mounting hole of the mounting flange. The mounting hole includes a through hole portion and a slot portion. The mounting boss is inserted in the through hole portion. The slot portion extends from a front section of a hole edge of the through hole portion toward a front of the vehicle to communicate with the through hole portion.
METHOD AND MANUFACTURING A DECORATIVE LINING FOR A VEHICLE INTERIOR ELEMENT
A method for manufacturing a decorative lining (HD) for a vehicle interior element (EH) is disclosed. Said method involves: step (i) wherein the size of at least one edge (B11, B12) of two leather parts (PC1, PC2) is reduced on an inner face (FI1) and each reduced-size edge is folded over to form a fold (R1, R2) on each leather part (PC1, PC2); and step (ii) wherein the leather parts (PC1, PC2) as well as a decorative insert (ID) that is inserted between the two leather parts (PC1, PC2) are coupled to the vehicle interior element (EH) by placing two edges (B21, B22) underneath the folds (R1, R2).
Vehicle airbag systems
A sealed modular trim supplemental side air bag inflatable curtain (SABIC) module assembly includes a SABIC and a vehicle trim assembly encapsulating the SABIC. The SABIC is sealed within the vehicle trim assembly and provided as a complete compact module configured for subsequent attachment to a vehicle roll bar.
MOTOR VEHICLE TRIM COMPONENT
The invention relates to a trim component having a strap and a mounting for the strap. The trim component includes a rod and an anchor head protruding radially from the rod with a housing concealing the strap end, and the housing including a bottom wall provided with an opening for passing the rod, and permitting the head to be urged against the wall. The housing includes overhanging walls extending vertically in line with the bottom wall, having a space for accommodating the head and a cover for closing the space in order to conceal the head.
Vehicle interior structure
To prevent a vehicle body member from being damaged when an interior component is attached. In a vehicle interior structure, an interior component is fastened to a vehicle body member provided interior of a vehicle by an engagement portion. The engagement portion includes a hole formed in the vehicle body member, a claw portion provided in the interior component, and a pedestal provided in a base part of the claw portion. A guide portion is provided in the vehicle body member to guide the pedestal before the claw portion is fitted into the hole to engage with the hole, so as to prevent an end portion of the interior component from contacting the vehicle body member.
Vehicle interior trim assembly including rigid interior trim components connected to one another and a flexible suspension that biases the rigid interior trim components toward one another to limit movement therebetween
A vehicle interior trim assembly includes a first trim component and a second trim component. The first trim component includes a first base plate and a protrusion. The second trim component includes a connection clip and a connection suspension. An opening in the connection clip receives the protrusion, and the connection clip engages an underside surface of the protrusion to yield a snap fit between the connection clip and the protrusion. The snap fit secures the second trim component to the first trim component. The connection suspension is configured to yield an interference fit between the connection suspension and one of the first base plate and the protrusion when the second trim component is assembled to the first trim component. The interference fit yields a biasing force that biases the connection clip toward the underside surface of the protrusion to limit movement between the first and second trim components.
INTERIOR MEMBER
An interior member for attachment to a car body configuring member includes a fixing tool to fix the interior member to the car body configuring member, a base portion with a through-hole which allows the fixing tool to pass therethrough, and a movement restricting portion that protrudes from an outer surface of the base portion. The fixing tool has a head disposed on the outer surface, and a shaft extending from the head and fixed to the car body configuring member through the through-hole. The interior member is displaceable in a direction along the outer surface of the base portion within a predetermined area in a state where part of the car body configuring member or the fixing tool is inserted. The movement restricting portion has an abutting portion which restricts movement of the head in the direction along the outer surface.
DECORATIVE COVERING MATERIAL WITH ALIGNMENT FEATURES
A decorative covering for a vehicle interior panel is made from two sheets of material joined together at a seam. The sheets of material have matching alignment features along respective edges to aid in visual alignment during the joining operation. The alignment features are spaced along the edge of a decorative layer, and cutouts are formed along a corresponding edge of an attached backing layer such that each alignment feature is visible through one of the cutouts when viewed from the back side. The cutouts are larger than the alignment features and formed before the two layers are laminated together, effectively increasing allowable tolerances during lamination. This construction is particularly useful with leather, which is often subjected to cut-and-sew operations and used with a backing layer.
Trim panel with modified flange and method of installing same
A trim panel such as an end panel for an instrument panel of a motor vehicle, has a body including an exposed face and a flange that interfaces with an elastomeric seal on the motor vehicle. At least one tubercle is provided on that flange. A method of installing a trim panel on a motor vehicle adjacent to an elastomeric seal is also disclosed. Tubercles on the flange gently push the elastomeric seal away from the flange during installation protecting the surface of the elastomeric seal from marring or other damage during the installation process.
