A control system is connected to the plurality of linear actuators adapted to control the position and orientation of the hitting pad platform, and one or more sensors are operatively connected to the hitting pad platform and in communication with the control system for sensing impacts to the hitting pad by a user. A martial arts training system using the interactive hitting pad, as well as a method of training, are also provided.
Assistive rehabilitation elliptical system
An elliptical system is disclosed having a crank assembly configured to be adjusted in length to accommodate users having varying gaits. In some embodiments, the crank assembly includes a crank and an axle connection bracket that is slidably adjustable with respect to the crank. For example, the crank assembly can include a crank link having a longitudinal body, where the longitudinal body is connected to the crank at one end and includes a longitudinal slot slidably coupled with the axle connection bracket. The axle connection bracket is configured to slide through a plurality of positions along the longitudinal body. In some embodiments, the crank assembly further includes a screw for adjusting the axle connection bracket with respect to the crank, where the screw can cause the axle connection bracket to slide through one or more positions of the plurality of positions when the screw is turned.
Exercise machine resistance adjustment system
An exercise machine resistance adjustment system for providing an exerciser the ability to immediately adjust the resistance force by changing their body position on the movable carriage or end platforms. The exercise machine resistance adjustment system generally includes a frame, a carriage movably positioned on the frame, a spring connected to the carriage to apply a biasing force to the carriage, one or more left projections within the carriage adapted for a left hand of an exerciser to grasp, and one or more right projections within the carriage adapted for a right hand of an exerciser to grasp. The exerciser is able to efficiently adjust the amount of resistance force applied to the carriage by repositioning their hands (or feet) from a first set of projections at a first distance to a second set of projections at a second distance from the first end of the exercise machine.
Workout apparatus for simulating user movement patterns in bicycle sports
A workout apparatus for use by a user to simulate core movement patterns of bike riding is provided. The workout apparatus includes a base deck, a pair of tubular members coupled to the base deck and in contact with the ground, each tubular member having a convex surface in contact with the ground surface, a frame assembly pivotably mounted to the base deck, a handle bar coupled to the frame assembly, and a pair of hydraulic damper units coupled to the frame assembly and base deck. The user on the base deck grabs the handle bar to perform a pushing or pulling motion, thereby enabling the first hydraulic damper unit or second hydraulic damper unit to provide resistance to movement of the frame assembly.
AQUATIC EXERCISE DEVICE
An aquatic exercise device is disclosed, able to exert omnidirectional uniform water resistance while exercising, so that equal force is required to move it in any direction. The water resistance of the device according to the invention can be adjusted in a quick and measured way. This device can be operated with one hand and can be brought close to the body of exerciser.
Resistance System for a Rowing Machine
A resistance system for a rowing machine has a mounting bracket, and a housing assembly, a driving assembly and a restoring assembly mounted on the mounting bracket. The housing assembly is for storing liquid and a paddle wheel. The driving assembly is connected to the paddle wheel and drives the paddle wheel to rotate in a direction only. The restoring assembly is connected to a strip hub of the driving assembly and is able to drive the strip hub to rotate in a reverse direction. The resistance system for the rowing machine has simplified structure. Therefore, it is easy to assemble to resistance system, and manufacturing cost of the resistance system can be decreased. In addition, a service life of the resistance system as well as the rowing machine can be increased.
Portable exercise apparatus comprising resistance generating member in the form of a plunger carried on limb receiving member of the exercise apparatus
An exercise apparatus for use in for example a leg exercise comprises at least one track each extending in a respective longitudinal direction, and each carrying in sliding movement therealong a limb receiving member for supporting a limb of the user. The apparatus includes a resistance generating member in the form of a plunger cooperating with a stop surface to provide gradual resistance to movement of the limb receiving member in a user-driven direction. The resistance generating member is mounted on the limb receiving member so as to be movable therewith and is arranged for releasable contact with the stop surface defined on the respective track.
WRIST AND FOREARM STRENGTHENING DEVICE
A wrist strengthening device includes a first handle, a second handle coupled to the first handle, and a tightening component coupled to the first handle and the second handle. The tightening component is configured to provide resistance to movement of the first handle and the second handle as the first handle is moved in a first direction and the second handle is moved in a second direction, opposite the first direction. The tightening component includes an outer piece, an inner piece, and a male and a female portion. Movement of the male portion toward the female portion causes space between the inner piece and the outer piece to decrease and friction therebetween to concurrently increase.
Pull down exercise apparatus
Apparatus for performing a pull down exercise comprising: a frame, a seat, an input arm assembly interconnected to a resistance mechanism and a manually graspable mechanism disposed vertically above the user's trunk in a start sitting exercise position, the input arm assembly being pivotably mounted on the frame for back and forth travel along a generally forward to rearward direction and along a generally side to side direction orthogonal to the forward to rearward direction, the input arm assembly being rotatably pivotable around a first linear axis and a second linear axis in the respective directions on exertion by the user of a rearwardly downwardly directed force on the manually graspable mechanism.
Systems and methods for passive, active, and resistance range of motion and stretching apparatus
The present invention includes a rehabilitation apparatus that can assist a patient that has been impaired, injured/traumatized, or subject to degenerative conditions in his or her lower limbs. The apparatus may be designed to exercise the extension and flexion movements for a patient's leg after knee surgery. A thigh support link may be connected to an upper leg link, which is connected to a lower leg link for supporting the patient's leg during the extension and flexion range of movements. A foot plate with wheels may be connected to the lower leg link, and the wheels enable the foot plate to slide along a base as the patient moves in both directions. A sled or connector provides a flexible connection between the thigh support link and the base, which allows the thigh support link to travel along the base in conjunction with the foot plate wheels. The present invention provides adjustable, constant resistance as the extension and flexion exercises are done. In some embodiments, the resistance may be different for the extension and flexion ranges of motion. The resistance may be applied through the connection of the sled or connector to the base. This can be done with direct or magnetic resistance mechanisms. In one embodiment, one or more b-motors or magnetic clutches are used to provide magnetic resistance.
